Happy Friday! :)

For being a Friday I'm awfully irritable today, mostly because of my computer ~ I've re-booted twice now and it still seems slow, when I type it's like the keys can't keep up to my fingers and letters are missing in words, then I have to go back and fill in all the missing letters!? It's very irritating! I'm also annoyed cause the other guy I work with had to go back to his doctors this morning, something about blood pressure, so I had to come in early again!? Must be nice to go to all your doctors appointments! ? And I think I'm just generally hormonal today, making me grumpy!? Bowling last night was pretty rough, I only had one good game and I think because we did a lot of walking at the hardware stores before bowling my legs were more tired then usual. All night I had bad leg cramps that I had to keep massaging out. I'm glad it's the weekend, I don't have too much planned. My girlfriend and her family are suppose to come over for a visit, I'd like to do a little baking (for hubby this time), finish cutting the fabric for diapers and maybe wash floors! ? Hubby will be in the basement for probably the entire weekend, pulling wire and finishing other things. The plan is to be done drywall/ mud and taping by the end of March!? I think it is do-able, but then I'm not the one doing any of the work!? Hubby also suggested that once all the drywall work is done that we get the furnace cleaned, something I never really thought of and something that hasn't been done since we moved in (2 1/2 years ago) so it is time to get it done anyway!? I thought it was a good idea.

Thursday

Just another day, really ~ this week just hasn't been very exciting?! ;) No doctor visits, no trips to the emergency, not a whole heck of a lot really!! ? Last night I made "Turkey Chicken soft tacos" I couldn't find ground turkey at the store so I went with ground chicken instead. I thought they tasted really good, hubby thought it could have used a few more veggies like mushrooms and maybe some noodles (so it would be more like a Bad Ass wrap). I will try to post the recipe tomorrow. Tonight is bowling night again, which I'm not too excited about ... but there is only about 5 weeks left in this season, and then the race season starts!! :) Before bowling tonight we are going shopping for light fixtures for the basement and we will probably window shop for bathroom stuff (toilet, vanity, cabinets, etc.) just to get an idea of how much we will need to save for that. I can't really think of anything else that is going on... pretty boring hey!? :P

Typical Tuesday

Well, not too much is new around here!? I was suppose to go for an ultrasound today to check my gallbladder but one of the guys I work with that can't seem to decide if he wants to work here or his other job has taken yet another day off so he can work at his other job!!? I think the worst part of it all is that he didn't even bother to mention anything until late Friday afternoon! My boss told me not to cancel and that I should still go but that would mean that he would be by himself for the first two hours in the morning or I could have come in and left for a half hour then come back. But for this ultrasound I was not suppose to eat or drink for 8 hours before so I would have had to wait till 10:00am to even have a glass of water!! I would have had a very cranky baby never mind me! ;) I decided that I wouldn't be able to go this long with out grub and it wasn't fair to make my boss work by himself for that long (especially if we were busy), so I cancelled! :( The ultrasound was really more for me then my doctor, I just wanted to see if I had passed any of the stones or if my gallbladder was still full of them!? I figure I haven't had any attacks since getting out of the hospital so I should just continue doing/ eating what I am and I'm sure I will be fine!? And if I do have another attack I will get the ultrasound then and hopefully make the dipsh*t feel guilty for taking so many unplanned days off without checking the schedule first to see if anyone else has plans for that day!!! Something I don't think I would put up with!

Last night was pretty uneventful, we ended up going out for supper (BP's) I had pizza!!! :o It was vegetarian and I asked for them to put 1/2 the cheese on, it was nice to feel like I was having a 'treat' without feeling the pain for it later in the evening! :) So when we got home both of our plans kinda went out the window and we just lazed around on the couch. Tonight I plan on taking the dog for a walk (we need milk anyway) and hopefully my hubby will find my toque so my head doesn't get so cold!? He borrowed it to go quading or something and hasn't put it back where it came from making it MIA!!

I find it slightly odd how I don't have any real cravings yet? I would have thought I would have by now and I haven't really eaten anything that some people would consider weird!? A girlfriend of mine who is also pregnant right now (about a month behind me) was telling me about a drink she had created that was supposedly really good, it had some type of juice in it, yogurt (she used strawberry) and Honey nut Cheerios ~ put in a blender until well blended!! :P She also told me about when she was pregnant with her first kid she loved having eggs with peanut butter!!! Ewwwww - that's just wrong! I haven't done anything that weird ..... yet! ;)

Another Monday

Well another weekend has past and as usual I could have used just one more day off!! ;) I feel like we got lots done this weekend. Hubby worked in the garage all night Friday with one of his buddies, I didn't even feel him crawl into bed at 1am!! :o Apparently I'm not as "stealth like" when I come home late! Saturday morning I did some house cleaning and after supper went out to St.Albert to babysit my niece and nephew. When I got out there my youngest niece was sleeping, apparently she had a busy day, it was only 6pm. They said she may wake up or she may sleep through the night till the next day!! I thought this was amazing ~ do most kids (one year old) sleep that long!!?? So I only had to watch my nephew (6 yrs old) and niece (10 yrs old), I had brought some crafty things with me so we did that first - painting those stained glass things. Then worked on a activity book thing I got them, by the time I knew it, it was bed time! My brother and SIL didn't get home till 11:30
and after talking for a bit I finally left at midnight. The youngest niece never did wake up! I guess I wasn't as nice as hubby though when I got home late and apparently woke him up! opps he he Sunday, I finished my house work and did some baking, more banana/ blueberry muffins and some oatmeal chocolate bars both low fat of course! ;) O - we also had our first BBQ'd steak of the year on Sunday, with baked potato and Caesar salad! YUM ! I also wanted corn on the cob but I guess it's not the right season!? Hubby was busy all weekend working on the basement and got lots accomplished!! All the demo was done by Sat. and he got almost all the walls put up by Sunday! My laundry room has probably shrunk in half but now the main rumpus room is a lot bigger! I can't wait to see what looks like when it is finished, which I know won't be for a few months still but I'm excited~!! :) I forgot to mention too that I did some fabric cutting Friday night, I will probably do more tonight or during the week so I can give all the fabric to hubbies aunt on Thursday at bowling.

~~ FRIDAY ! ~~

The week actually wasn't that bad considering it was only a four day work week! ;) We had bowling last night, I didn't do very well - it's OK though, it's just for fun, we aren't a very serious team. I like to win and all but I don't think it means everything. I just got off the phone with my brother, he wants me to babysit this weekend (Sat. night). I guess they have a fund raiser thing for his wife's daughters dance class?! He figures they will only be gone for a few hours but I told him to try and have a little fun and stay out later. It makes me feel like they don't trust me when they come home so early?! So I guess I now have plans for Saturday night, I wanted to think of something for us to do instead of watching TV all night. Like maybe get out of the house (but I don't have a car seat for the little one), or maybe something crafty or a board game?

I feel like the baby is getting bigger, or maybe it's me? Either way I feel bigger and I think people see it too! My tummy is now bigger then my boobs, something I was hoping wouldn't happen for at least another month? I think I have gained about 20lbs so far, which seems like a lot but when I think about it .... I guess it's not too bad for only having 18 weeks left? I think by the end I will be close to the 50lb gain mark which I know is fine and the weight will eventually fall off, probably as quick as it went on (9 months)!! ;) I just sometimes have days that I feel fat, I'm sure it's normal? I am also thinking about all the things we need still and when I think about that and the fact that there is only 18 weeks left (maybe less) I kinda have a sense of urgency! Like time is going by really fast, which is kinda nice cause I really want to see this baby and be done with the pregnancy stuff but we aren't ready yet, I feel like I should have been buying things earlier?! But we can't buy too many things cause we have no where to put them, until the basement is finished (or close to being done)!? So much to do ..... so little time! ;)

Just another day ...

So if you don't already know we are going to try and use cloth diapers instead of disposables. I'm not doing it to be enviromental or for other reasons people may say but I would like to use cloth because I've heard that it is easier to potty train the child, they will recognize the "wet" feeling sooner then kids that use disposables. My hubbies aunt is going to sew them all for us, all we have to do is cut the pattern and she will zip them together. But lately she has been bugging my MIL as to where the material is so I guess she wants to get started on them, which is nice ~ at least she wants to be prepared! ;) So, the inlaws stopped by last night after dinner to drop off the diaper material that needs to be cut still. My MIL has already cut all the white flannel that goes inside the diaper (5 dozen regular size and 3 dozen newborn size) she has also cut all the flannel with a pattern that goes on the outside for the newborn diapers so all I need to do is cut 5 dozen diapers out of the patterned material and the absorbant pads that get sewn in between. So I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend! Which is OK cause hubby will probably be working in the basement. Last night he finished the demolision process so hopefully this weekend he will be building walls! ? :)

Early Prenatal class!

I almost forgot that we had our first "Early Prenatal Class" last night, it wasn't the actual Prenatal class but one that prepared you for what to expect while pregnant. They talked a lot about the hazzards and warning signs in pregnancy, and we talked a lot about diet and excersize. I had a few questions but most of the stuff she talked about I have already gone through, like morning sickness. We got to watch a video on the development of your fetus and the changes it goes through. She passed around these "gell babies" that were the actual size and weight of the baby at certain weeks during your pregnancy. We all got a book on pregnancy that has information and places in it too fill out your weight and babies heartbeat etc. The class was OK but I think for the most part a lot of the info I already knew from looking on the internet. There was 11 other couples there and we had to stand in a line from soonest due date to latest due date. I was surprised to see two couples there that were already 30 weeks along! I'm not even sure why they would bother with the "Early" class ~ seems a little late to me? Of course I had to compare belly bumps with all the other ladies, I felt like I was on the bigger side but that was probably because I was wearing loose pants and a sweater? Everyone was different, it was nice to see all the different ladies. My biggest concern was about fetal movement ~ they say that you are suppose to feel the baby move between 18-22 weeks but I'm in my 22nd week now and still don't really feel anything!? So I asked when it should be a concern? She said that if you still can't feel anything by 24 weeks that you should inform your doctor. I know the baby is moving in me cause we saw it on the ultrasound and the tech lady doing the ultrasound was telling me about how active baby was and surprised when I said I couldn't feel any of it!? I figure it's just because I have to much fat and the baby just needs to be a little bigger for me to feel it!? It kinda has me a little worried but I do feel the occasional tickle so I'm sure it will come!?

So since the class was from 7-9 I didn't have time to copy down the cookie recipe so I will have to do that tonight and post it for you tomorrow. Hubby plans on finishing the distruction of the basement tonight and then this weekend we will hopefully be able to start onthe building part!! How exciting!! I can hardly wait to see it all come together, I think it will look way beter then it did! I may have to post some pics of before/ during and after!? ;)

Back to work ...

I had a nice long weekend, not too eventfull but it was nice. I don't think we did anything Friday night ? I can't remember, I think my 'baby brain' is starting to kick in cause I've had a lot of 'moments' lately!? ;) Saturday hubby started on the basement ~~ YEAH !! And I went shopping, to Costco for a few 'staples' (TP, Kleenex, Pop..etc). By the time I got home my FIL was over helping hubby disconnect all the electrical stuff, thankfully he is an electrician so we don't have to pay for someone to come out and do that! ;) I made some soup on Saturday "Wild Rice Soup" (I will post the recipe at the end of this), it was really good! Then on Sunday we decided to go visiting cause we haven't done that since before I was in the hospital, and later that night we went for dinner with my Dad and brother for Dad's birthday. We had to pick up my nephew who was with his Mom close to where we live so we figured we were going by there anyway we may as well pick him up instead of having my brother drive all that way. I was nice to spend a little quality time with my nephew something I don't get to do too often. Monday was a holiday, which was nice ~ we went shopping first thing in the morning for supplies for the basement. Then after lunch I baked some low fat oatmeal raisin cookies. I didn't copy this recipe down so I won't be able to post it today but I'll make sure to post it tomorrow. That's about all for our weekend, I'm so excited that the basement has been started on although I'm sure it will still take a good 2 months to finish, if it's not done by the end of April I told hubby that we should start on the baby room anyway! We can always work on the basement later!?

Wild Rice Soup
1/4C Butter
4 Med. celery sticks ~ sliced
2 Med. carrot sticks ~ sliced
1 lg. onion ~ chopped
1 Med. green pepper ~ chopped
1/4C plus 2 Tbsp flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3C cooked wild rice
2C water
2 Cans chicken broth
3C half n' half
2/3C slivered toasted almonds (optional)
1/2C parsley

1. In 4qt saucepan or dutch oven melt butter. Cook celery, carrots, onion and green pepper about 10 min until crisp-tender, stirring frequently.
2. Stir in flour, salt and pepper. Stir in wild rice, water and broth. Heat to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 15 min. Stir occasionally.
3. Stir in half n' half, almonds and parsley. Heat just until hot (do not boil or soup may curdle).
1 serving = Calories 345, Fat 20g, Chol 55mg, Carbs 31g, Protein 11g.
***Lighter version*** For only 3g of Fat and 215 calories use cooking spray instead of butter and 3C of Fat free half n' half.

Of course I made this using the lighter version, although I couldn't find Fat free 1/2 n 1/2 so I just used low fat but I skipped out on the almonds (a. because nuts are fattening and b. because I forgot to buy some). I also found that in step 2 it says to stir in the flour before the water and broth which I found made it hard to stir and it almost burned to the bottom of the pan, I would add your liquids first then the dry ingredients! ? O - also I didn't have "wild rice" so I just used regular instant white rice, which probably isn't as healthy but tasted good? Other then that it was a pretty simple recipe and tastes pretty darn good! ;)

Happy Friday and a Long Weekend!

Went bowling last night, for the first time in three weeks! It was OK -of course I sucked but at least it got us out of the house! ;) Everyone had to ask how I was which was nice and we ended up getting home at 11ish.

Today is really nice out, it's in the plusses but last night we had freezing rain so the roads this morning were terrible! I think I saw 6 cars in the ditch and one really bad accident on the highway this morning! I kept thinking that I forgot my cell phone at home so I drove pretty cautious. I also think that I drive slightly different now that I know there is a baby in me! I feel like I should get one of those "baby on board" signs and put it on my car even though baby technically isn't here yet! ? ;)

I booked an appointment for the UC Baby thing yesterday (April 12) but now I'm debating if I really want to spend that kind of money on something like that? The lady said you get a disk with 30-100 pictures on it (depending on how co-operative baby is) but that got me thinking .... just how many pictures do you really need of baby in the womb!? You could make a whole album of just womb pictures!? Granted they would be super cute and you would never be able to get pics like that again but honestly it seems like a lot of pictures!? I wonder if they would be like my wedding pics and just sit there on a disc to be looked at maybe once a year!? I think I will see if they have any smaller packages, like maybe 20 pics for less money!? I mean ~ I still have another ultrasound and I will get more pics there, so that will give me 4 pics, which I think may be enough for a scrapbook page?! I'm just not sure and I don't want to regret my decision later it's not like I can change my mind after baby is born!? But $150-$200 seems like a big chunk of change!?

As for the weekend.... supposidly hubby is going to start on the basement reno's!! :O FIL is coming over to help so it might actually get started!? ;) Hubby wants to start on the laundry room so I have to make sure I get all my laundry (or most of it) done tonight, cause the washer/ dryer will be out of order for a few days. Then on Sunday we are suppose to go for dinner with my Dad to celebrate his 55th birthday, I think we will go to Montana's and I can have fajita's. I was looking online at all the restaurants nutritional charts and Montana's seems to have the most low fat choices. Then Monday is a holiday (Family Day) a holiday that is usually too cold to do anything with your family!? We have no plans for this day -- probably just catch up on house work and maybe do some more baking, I'm almost out of muffins! :P On Tuesday we have our first "early Prenatal" appointment, I guess it is like a preview of what's to come when you go to the actual class in a few months ? That's about all ... have a good weekend! :)

Blah ...

Just when I was begining to think I was in the clear I got a phone call yesterday. From my doctors office, I thought they were suppost to phone by last Friday but I guess the lab took longer then they expected!? So yes - it turns out that I do have an issue that needs to be taken care of, so after work yesterday I had to stop at the drug store and pick up some Canesten (something I have never used before!)? I wouldn't say that it was comfortable but I figured it out and it wasn't as bad as I thought!? So I have have treatment for 3 days and then all should be good?!

This week feels like it is going by so slow! I wish it was Friday already!? Here is a pic of the diaper pail I want to get from the welcome wagon show. It has a spot in the lid for a "citrus puck" (air freshener) and it snaps down with one hand. I checked out the companies website and it is only $29.95 - not bad! ? It looks like it would hold way more diapers then I would ever need it to, I just like the air freshener lid! ;) The pucks that go in the lid are only $2.00 each and supposidly last up to 3-4 weeks but the lady at the show said that you can go buy your own sented oil and add drops to a old puck so it can be reused. I also want to call the UC Baby place to see how early you need to book them, I think we will get one of their packages! It looks like so much fun! And I got a $20 off coupon from the show, so that almost pays for the heartbeat bear! ;)

More pics and some recipes!

~Before ~ Pre-pregnancy =

Not the best outfit to compare tummies but this is 12 weeks =

~Present day~ 21 weeks =

Front views

I also wanted to post some recipes that I have tried and thought were petty good, the first one is suppost to a loaf recipe but I made them as muffins instead and thought they turned out good.

Banana Bread
1 1/4C sugar
1/2C butter or margarine
2 Eggs (I subed and used 1/2C Egg Beaters instead)
1 1/2C Mashed bananas (3 ripe bananas)
1/2C Buttermilk (I subed and used 1/2C Plain yogurt instead)
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 1/2C Flour
1 tsp. Baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1C Chopped nuts (I subed and used 1C blueberries instead)

1. Preheat oven to 350F. Grease two 8x4 pans or one 9x5 pan, or use muffin liners like me!
2. In a large bowl stir sugar and butter until well mixed. Stir in eggs until well mixed. Stir in mashed bananas, buttermilk, and vanilla beat with spoon until smooth. Stir n flour, baking soda and salt until moistened. Stir in nuts and divide batter.
3. Bake 8" pan for about 1hr, 9" pan for aout 1 hr and 15 min and I baked my muffins for about 35 min or until toothpick came out clean. Cool for 10 min.
1 slice = Calories 70, Fat 2g, Chol 15mg, Sodium 95mg, Carbs 12g, Protein 1g.
I think that since I subed so many things that my recipe would be even lower in fat (nuts are pretty high fat and so is buttermilk but the berries and yogurt I used are fat free). They turned out really good, I think I next time I might try adding cinnamon to them cause they kinda tasted like they were missing something? Last night I made another new recipe for supper and it was pretty good too,

Roasted Vegetable Stew
5 small red potatoes - cut into fourth's
1 large onion - cut into fourths
1 med. green pepper - cut into fourths
1 med. red pepper - cut into fourths
1 med. carrot - chopped
1 sm. zucchini - chopped
4 oz. med. whole mushrooms
2 cloves garlic - finely chopped
2 Tbsp oil
1 can vegetable or chicken broth
2 cans Italian stewed tomatoes - undrained
1 1/4C uncooked rotini
2 Tbsp fresh parsley or 2 tsp dried
Fresh ground pepper (optional)

1. Set oven to broil. In large bowl toss potatoes, onion, peppers, carrot, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic and oil. In ungreased 15x10 pan spread veggie mixture - skin side up.
2. Broil 10-15 minutes. Remove veggies as they become soft. Coarsley chop potatoes, onions and peppers.
3. In 4 quart dutch oven mix vegetables, broth, tomatoes, and pasta. Heat to boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer about 15 minutes stirring occasionally until pasta is tender. Sprinkle with parsley and pepper.
1 Serving (1 1/2c) = calories 245, Fat 5g, Chol 0mg, Sodium 680mg, Carbs 49g, Protein 7g

I found it kind odd how there was both potatoes and noodles in this recipe and I think next time I make it I will add less potatoes (if any) and more noodles. I also only had one can of reg stewed tomatoes and the other can was 'chili' spiced so it made it a little spicy but not too bad. I also omitted the zucchini cause we don't really like it but I think next time I will add a few more mushrooms and maybe a little corn instead. I also found that there was a few too many onions but they did add flavor so maybe I will roast them with the veggie mix but not add them to the stew part!? This recipe turned out to be more like a soup then stew but I think if I was to use more noodles they would suck up more of the juices? Anyway it was pretty good and had just a bit of spice to it (probably cause I used spicy stewed tomatoes though - I don't think it would normally be spicy if you stuck to the recipe?).

Monday Morning

The weekend went by way to fast, probably cause we were fairly busy?! Friday night we went over to the inlaws to see how FIL's trip to Cancun was. Sounded like he had a really good time, how could you not with the sandy beaches and sun all day long? ;) Then Saturday hubby and I went out to my brothers to babysit the kids. That was pretty uneventful, my nephew had soccer most of the afternoon and my niece slept most of the afternoon so all we really had to do was feed them lunch and keep them entertained for a few hours. It was nice to see them again, we left at 5:30 and headed for supper, I was going to stop by my Dad's house and give him his copies of the ultrasound pics but since it was so late and we were hungry we decided not to. His birthday is this Friday anyway so we will go over there then. Then on Sunday I went to the Welcome Wagon thing with my Mom, it wasn't half as big as I thought it would be and the room was very crowded! With all the baby buggies and my Mom's walker, then they had all these chairs set up in the middle of the room for presentations and the booth's around the edges. It got a little squishy once the room filled up! I was surprised to see booths for the Bridal Shower, ReMax (real estate) and a booth full of candles? There was really only one booth that I found usefull and that was the diaper service one. She asked if she could tell me about their diapers and I mentioned how we are making our own cloth diapers but I had a few questions about using either a 'wet' or 'dry' pail for the dirty diapers. She explained the differences to me pretty good and sudgested the dry pail as being the better way to go. She also said that I could buy their pail (which was really nice) and if I needed any rubber pants they sell them as well. My MIL already bought enough rubber pants though so I won't be needing anymore of them, it's not like you have to change them everytime you change a diaper!? But I definately think I will buy their pail with some air fresheners! I'm not sure if I would go again to a welcome wagon, I didn't get any coupons and only a few free things - one tiny sample of bum cream, one diaper, some pencils, a candle and Smarties from the Tupperware booth? I thought I would get more coupons or maybe even win a door prize!! :) We left before all the prize's were handed out and headed for lunch. But first we stopped and played some nickle slots at the casino! Of course I lost, I don't play very often and really had no idea what I was doing!? I baked some banana blueberry muffins when I got home, they turned out really good - I will have to post the recipe here tomorrow. They were low fat to begin with but then I subed a few things to make it even less fat and it still turned out really good, I was actually kinda surprised! ;) LOL

Friday!!! :)

Well we never ended up going bowling last night!! Hubby was pretty tired from a long day of work and honestly I didn't need much convincing to not go! Instead I was going to make a few recipes but when I started looking at the list of things I needed I realized that most of the things I needed were frozen! I will make them this weekend after my egg beaters and bananas thaw out! ;)

My FIL comes home today ... he was in Cancun for the past two weeks!! When he left two weeks ago it wasn't too cold out maybe -5C and now today is -24C with a wind chill of like -35C !!! So he will be leaving +30 and coming home to -30C!!! How crazy is that - I think he will be surprised at the amount of snow we have gotten while he was gone too! Hopefully there is only about eight more weeks of winter then it should start to get nice again?

I booked all my appointments and ultrasounds yesterday, it seems like every two weeks I have some kind of appointment! I bet my boss is getting tired of me having to take all this time off? I can't even imagine what it is going to be like when I have to go out to St.Albert every 2 weeks for my regular prenatal exam plus any extra appointments that might be needed?! In the next 5 weeks I have two ultrasounds (one for baby, one for my gallstones), my 24 week appointment with with the GYN and I have a dentist appointment! The only good thing is that the company I work for is pretty family orientated so they probably won't deduct any pay from my salary because of all the time off. The are usually pretty understanding and will figure out a way that I can still get my full pay or close to it!

1st U/S pics!! ~~finally~~

Well, my doctor never did end up calling me at work so I headed off to my appointment at 2:30. It's a good thing they need you to pee when you get there cause it's a long drive!! My doctor was running late .... as usual, so my appointment that should really only take about 10 minutes took an hour! I didn't get out of there till 4:30 ~~ my BP was 115/65 which I think is good, and babies bpm was 144 a little low for baby but that's OK maybe he was sleeping? I also am down 2lbs from my last weigh in (four weeks ago) but I think that is also OK cause now I am where I should be weight wise and I am gaining again so it's all good! ;) The doctor didn't really mention anything about my gallstones and I asked why she had called me, it was just to go over the ultrasound. She told me that everything looked good, all the bits were where they should be (no abnormalities found), my placenta looked good and by the ultrasounds measurements they predict that baby is 5 days ahead of where I say it is so they estimate the due date for June 22~! She did mention how they couldn't see the heart chambers very well and recommend that I go for another ultrasound in 2-5 weeks (but she says it would be beter to go closer to the 5 week mark - things will be clearer and easier to see). So I made my appointment for March 18th, I'm pretty excited about having to go for another ultrasound cause this way I get more pics and I get to see baby again!! She did a swab test for my 'itch' and I need to go pee in a cup to make sure it's not my bladder/ kidney's that are the problem. I should find out by Friday what the swab says.

After I finally got out of the doctors office I decided to stop by my Mom's place for what I thought would be a quick visit, well two hours later we decided to go for supper (Chili's again ~~ cause I know it's 'safe' to eat) it was 9pm by the time we finished supper!!! :o Our Internet got fixed last night, we needed a new motem. So when I finally got home last night I made sure to post the pics here!! So here is our baby! :)

Everyone seems to really like the 3D one where it looks like baby is rubbing his eyes but I kinda wish I had a pic that showed the facial features a little beter?! Even though it is really cute, maybe on the next ultrasound I can get a more detailed pic?

It's bowling night ..... hubby says it's up to me if we go or not!? I honstly don't want to go anymore not because I'm sore still - I feel good, but just cause it's not that much fun!? I think we will end up going tonight and we will see how it goes. There is really only about 8 more weeks till the season is over so I should be OK for the rest of it and I really do need the excersise. I'll just have to suck it up and try my best! ;)

Hump day! ;)

I'm suppose to have another doctors appointment today but I'm thinking that my doctor may want to reschedule? Last night when I was out grocery shopping I guess she called and told hubby it wasn't important and that she would try to get a hold of me at work today? So now I'm kinda freaked out as to why she would be calling me at home but since she said it wasn't important it makes me think that maybe she needs to reschedule? Which would also kinda suck cause I really need to see her today, I think I may need a presciption for an infection? I feel like I am a one of those case book files, you know the ones where if it is "common" in pregnancy it will happen to me! My head cold is starting to go away but I have this burning itch that I have a feeling I know what it may be and I'm not liking it too much! :( Of course I Googled it and they recommend eatting less sugar, more yogurt and try to "air out the goods" more. he he So that's another thing to add to my diet list .... now I have to watch my sugar intake! I wonder who ever said "the joys of pregnancy" actually ment it or were they being sarcastic? I sure would like to know what these 'joys' are! ! ;)

Grocery shopping was really good, I was there for almost 2 hours!!! There were a few things I couldn't find like turkey breast, ground turkey and I had no idea where to find sesame seeds!? The buggy was so full, I don't think it's ever been that full but because they were giving you 15% off it ended up costing just as much as usual! I think this weekend I will make some blueberry banana muffins, granola bars and one of the casserols. I'm curious to try the recipe that calls for buckwheat, I don't think I've ever had buckwheat but I remember in school one year a classmate dressed up as Buckwheat - it was funny! he he

I have a pretty busy weekend planned - Saturday we need to go out to St.Albert and babysit my niece and nephew for a few hours, I want to do the baking/ cooking, on Sunday my Mom and I are going to a Welcome Wagon for expecting moms and hopefully we will be able to get over to my hubbies Grandmas to borrow her dehydrater so I can make some banana chips and healthy snacks. I also should probably squeeze in a little house cleaning as well. O - and I also need a oil change on my car so hopefully hubby will have time to get that done!? I doubt all this will happen, hopefully our Internet provider will be coming by tonight between 4 and 6 to fix our connection, so by the time I get home it beter be fixed or I'm going to be very mad!! I really want to post my pics for all of you~!! Hopefully if everything works out then you will be seeing the pics tomorrow! ;)

No sleep = very grumpy! :(

I don't think I slept for more then 4 hours last night, I just couldn't fall asleep? I was debating getting up and watching some TV to try and get drowsy but instead I just lay there. So now I am very grumpy today, not only because I have had no sleep but because our internet was still down and I can not post my pics!! :( Hubby was on the phone with the internet company last night to try and get it fixed but they are so useless, like they don't care! It pisses me off cause it is a service that I have paid for and now I can't even use it!

Tonight is grocery shopping day (first Tues of the month), I get to go by myself cause my hubby is expecting someone to come by and can't reach him to let him know he might not be home so I just said I would go by myself. I actually like to go by myself cause then I can take my time and not feel rushed, I just don't really like pushing the heavy cart which usually has a broken wheel making it impossible to turn corners! ;) I have a lot of things to get that I don't normally buy cause I want to make some of the new recipes so it might take me longer to find these items.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon that I am actually kinda excited to go to. I believe my weight loss has stopped, I weighed myself this morning and I am up a pound so I suppose that is good news?! It's hard to find that happy medium of not loosing but not putting on too much weight!? Hopefully it will get nicer out soon and I will take the dog out more and get my arse off the couch! ;)

The spell check thing hasn't been working for me lately on this blog so hopefully I'm not making too many errors? Other then that ..... not too much else is going on?

Ultrasound!! :)

The weekend started off great - I got to leave work early for our ultrasound appointment, which was OK. When we got to the office they were acting like they were in a big panic to get me done and when they found out that my doctor added a check of my gallbladder on the forum they refused and said they didn't have time for that, that I would have to make a another appointment! They seemed really rude and grumpy, I didn't like them at all! So after they got my name they rushed me into the room and told me that they don't use gowns there, that I just lift my shirt (which I thought as kinda wierd but I was OK with not getting naked). After about 20 minutes they called hubby into the room so he could see the baby, I asked if everything looked OK and she told me that she was having a hard time seeing the heart chambers so I will probably have to make another appointment. I definately won't be making that appointment with them!! So we did get pics, one regular one and one 3D one but our internet was down all weekend and I was unable to post them on here. Hopefully tonight it will be working and I can post them!?

Other then that my weekend was pretty boring, Saturday I went shopping and bought a new heart healthy cookbook that has quite a few low fat recipes in it. I also bought a baby book - the kind that you fill in the blanks and put the family tree in and all the firsts. O - and I did get a chance to bake some fat free banana muffins but the batch didn't make very many so I will have to make more. That's about all really, I feel much beter today - we even went out for dinner on Saturday to Chili's. They have a very big menu and on their "healthy choice" section it has all the stat's of what the meals are right there on the menu. The waitress was also very helpful for a more "healthy" choice, so I ordered a side salad to start and the "guiltless chicken sandwich" for my meal. I couldn't finish my meal, it was way too much food but really good and I never had a attack so I think we will be going back there if we ever want to eat out again!?

Friday already!! :)

With yesterday being my first day back at work it feels good to know that it is Friday already!! ;) I wish all weeks were this short! So yesterday went OK, I started getting a little sore as the day went on, my back was hurting yesterday and my tummy a bit. But I made it through a whole day, I just moved a lot slower then usual and I tried not to get up too much. It was nice, all I really did was sit here and answer the phone - hopefully today is the same!? I feel beter today then I did yesterday so I expect a good day and I get to leave at 3pm today!! I can hardly wait for the ultrasound - although I'm not too excited about making sure my bladder is full, I have TBS (tiny bladder syndrom) LOL - which seems to be a little worse now that I am pregnant! Hopefully I can hold it till she is done! ? he he

I don't think we have any plans for this weekend, I think I would like to bake some fat free bran muffins maybe I can also find a recipe for some low fat cookies?! ;) I'm so concerned about getting constipated (which is apparently common in pregnancies) that I try and keep a mental note of my last BM (bowel movement) and it seems like ever since I was in the hospital I feel the need to tell my hubby everytime I do have a BM - cause that was one of their daily questions .... have you been urinating? and passing gas? BM? I always told the nurse not to worry about me peeing ... I'm a very active pee'er! LOL Anyway so I think I need to up my fiber and I may go buy some prune juice (just in case). Other then that I plan on relaxing and sitting on my arse! :)
