Another busy day

Another busy day today, I am at work now till probably close to 11am - then off to my 36 week doctor appointment. Which will hopefully be quick and hopefully she will have my test results or I might have to do the GBS test again!? Then I will head back to work for three hours, head home to let the dog out for a quick pee and off the the track till probably 11pm? Hubby was out at the track yesterday for most of the day and didn't crawl into bed till 12:30am then his alarm went off at 5:30am and he was headed out the door again to go back! I told him he was nuts, something I couldn't do - only get 5 hours of sleep and just to work another 18 hour day!! :o But he enjoys working out there and he does get paid to be out there so it's not like he is loosing any money by not working on cars or reno's!? I figure it is better to let him do the things he wants like this now instead of after baby is born, cause who knows how I will be feeling and I might really need his help then, I don't want him to think that this baby is going to stop him from still enjoying the things he likes and plus he gets kinda cranky when I nag him too much! he he

Hubby did make sure to fix my tap and vacuumed before he left yesterday so I was happy about that. Except the end of the hose had the wrong kind of fitting on it and I couldn't use the flower sprayer (the one that is like it's raining) so I had to use my thumb to give them a spray. I finished getting the dog smears off the window, did a couple loads of laundry and cleaned the bathrooms!! :o So I should be good for the housework for another week!? I guess I was wrong too about being finished baby laundry, I forgot that my SIL had given me a bunch of bibs and receiving blankets that she no longer needs. I also packed babies bag last night!! I really have no idea what to put in it so I put 3 diapers with 3 liners and one rubber pant, a receiving blanket, a fuzzy soft blanket, and two outfits just in case one gets messed on before we leave the hospital. I'm not sure if I missed anything? I assume that the hospital will have any other items I may have missed? We learned in baby class that you shouldn't put baby in the rubber pants right away in case of chafing and their sensitive skin? I hate how all information you get is contradicting and there will always be someone that says it's not good or wrong?

Labor/Delivery Bag
+ phone numbers of people you need to call once you go into Labor.
+ hand-held fan to keep cool
+ toothbrush/toothpaste
+ 2 tennis balls for massage
+ hairbrush & ponytail holders
+ lip balm
+ digital camera
+ EXTRA camera batteries (& extra film if you're not using a digital)
+ 5 pairs of comfy undies that I won't mind ruining and tossing
+ a few pairs of socks (they may get wet during the whole process and you don't want wet, cold feet)
+ thick sanitary pads (these are generally provided so you could skip this, however, you won't know in advance if you'll like the kind they have to offer)
+ focal point
+ pen & paper (for jotting down important notes, ideas, info)
+ baby book (most hospitals will stamp baby's footprints in it for you and you can make sure to get all the nurse's and Dr.'s signatures for posterity)
+ radio (bring an AC adapter if it has one)
+ card games, mags, handheld video game, etc. to pass the time
+ snacks for coach (breakfast bars, fruit snacks, goldfish)
+ cash/change for vending machines, gift shop, etc.
shampoo/conditioner
+ soap/bodywash
+ scrubby/washcloths
+ lotion
+ deodorant
+ hairdryer
+ make-up (for all those lovely pictures you'll be snapping)
+ nursing bras/breast pads/breast cream
+ 3 comfy nightgowns (if you're breastfeeding, make sure the nightgowns open down the front so you don't have to take it completely off to feed)
+ robe & slippers
+ glasses/contact lens care (if applicable)
+ towel
+ stuff to do in recovery: knitting, books to read, journal, etc.
+ super comfy, non-restrictive going home clothes for you (don't think you can just slip into those pre-pregnancy slim pants now that the bambino is out)
+ going home outfit for baby (including booties, cap, blanket, bunting if it's a cold time of the year)
An infant car seat -- some hospitals won't let you leave without one and they inspect it before you go
+Diapers!!! Like a dozen of them
• outfit for the trip home (all-in-one stretchy outfits are easiest)
• Two to three babygros and vests for baby to wear while you are in hospital. Some hospitals provide baby gowns for your baby to wear during his stay.
• Baby blanket (a warm one if weather is cold)
•pair of socks or booties
• Hat
pacifiers if u plan to use them

I've got more!

Seems like I am always getting contradictory info from books, friends, family and "experts." Oh well. I say use your best instincts and you'll be fine!

I can't beleive how close you are to having your baby!! I have been reading your blog every day, but haven't really had time to comment. Now that I am back at work 2 days a week I thought I would, but they blocked blogger!

Enjoy your last days without your little one. Life changes...definitely for the better, but you will be living for them...it is wonderful, but a tad bit exhausting. Do some things for yourself. The housework will wait, go to the movies with your hubby, get a pedicure, read a book, start on your scrapbook, just relax...because once your new amazing family member comes along, you'll be so in love all you will want to do is sit and look at them all day long and hold him, you won't care that there are balls of dog hair in the corner of the kitchen!!

Don't worry too much about the babys bag, they will provide you with pretty much everything you will need. Just be sure you have an outfit that they can come home in that is warm/cool enough to wear outside, and a blanket and a hat for them. Also, some onesies are great to bring, because most of the time in the hospital they have them swaddled in a blanket with just a shirt and diaper on. Also, if you don't have some shirts that have the little hand covers, then you might want to get some or get some infant mittens, b/c they can scratch themselves with thier nails.

Relax...and GOOD LUCK!!
