Things .....

Things I've learned thus far.....

** Sleepers with buttons are WAY too hard to do up at 2am or any early morning change so now whenever I see sleepers with zippers I pick up a few different sizes!

** It takes days or weeks to get into a routine and only moments to mess it all up! I was putting Jacob down at 8ish and he wouldn't wake up until 7ish a few weeks ago but then we got busy and took him out past his 8pm bedtime (mostly cause I wanted to get out of the house) and now I still put him down around 8ish but he wakes up at 5am!! That's a loss of 2 hours sleep!! :o I miss those 2 hours of sleep but I guess I can't complain too much he is sleeping about 9 hours every night which is great!!

Things that are happening with me ....

** I'm losing my hair! I remember my girlfriend telling me that she thought she was going bald after she gave birth to her son so I think this is just left over pregnancy hormones that are getting out of my system although my doctor thinks it's stress!?!

** I'm still haven't lost any weight since giving birth. The day after I had Jacob I lost 20lbs and was amazed but I'm still up 20lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. I miss my skinny jeans and need to start focusing more on diet!! No more of those little chocolate bars!

** Speaking of diet.... It seems to me like I have way more cravings now then I did when I was pregnant! Maybe it's because now that my gallbladder is out I can eat what I want and not worry about having an attack?! Or maybe it's because I have been eating like crap and I know that the more crap I eat the more I will crave it!? Note to self: must eat more fruit and veggies! ;)

Things I have been working on ...

** Jacob's scrapbook! I really need to start it soon, I have everything laid out on the kitchen table with piles of pictures I just have to get at it before I forget all the feelings and moments that happened!

** I'm renovating the kitchen ... kinda? I decided that I need a project so that I'm not just sitting on the couch watching "Baby Stories" and "Bringing baby home"! So I bought some paint and new hinges/ handles and decided that this is my project. Although it is going to take me a while cause I can only work on it when Jacob is napping and lately that is only about an hour and a half twice a day!

Things that are happening with Jacob ...

** He can sit up by himself but I think that is only because he has a big butt!! he he He can sit for about 10 seconds before falling to the side but it's pretty impressive (to me anyway). I will have to take a pic next time so I can post it.

** He is trying very hard to roll over!! If he is lying on his back he makes this grunting noise like he is trying to do a sit up and I ask him if he wants to rollover (no I don't expect him to answer - that would just be weird LOL) then I grab his hand and he twists his body !! I have to help him but he seems quite happy when he flips over and usually lets out a loud coo!

Things I don't want to forget ...

** The little moaning sound he makes when he eats.

** The giggle that turns into a full out belly laugh then a high pitch squeal to finish it off.

** The way he grabs my shirt sleeve when I pick him up and carry him around.

** The way he plays with his hair and ear while he eats.

** The little noise he makes after he yawns.

I remember lossing mit fulls of hair. Its in the preggy books. I guess it could have been stress for me too. When Evan was born we where not doing so good $ wise, and being a new mom is stressful. Maybe it's both.

Oh my, your post almost made me cry. The things you learned, were the same ones we learned. I searched high and low for zippers! And oh my, I thought, "oh well, she'll just go to bed a little later since we were out" oh my. never again. And the things you never want to forget, I need to write mine down too...every day there is something new I never want to forget...and she is 7+ months old...that is a lot of stuff! And it is all AMAZING stuff. Enjoy him.
