Friday the 13th!

So far things seem to be going fairly well, I'm no more uncomfortable now then I was last week and I don't really feel any different - I don't think anything will be happening any time soon!? Which kinda sucks cause technically next week would be a perfect time for baby to make their big appearance. My MIL has said from almost day one that June 17th will be the day, I'm not sure how she picked this day but I would be OK with having a baby on that day. More likely though I will be a week late and baby won't be making any appearance until July 2nd (ish). I have noticed my appetite is not as big as before, I guess that means that baby is done growing? I forgot to mention yesterday that I feel like I am right on track with the weight gain, so far I have gained just over 40lbs which is exactly where I thought I would be. I am surprised that my belly button has stayed put and has not popped out and I never did get that line down my belly? I guess some women don't get it and I'm definitely not disappointed that my button has stayed in (I think that would feel really uncomfortable - virgin skin rubbing on my clothes all the time!).

I stopped at hubbies aunts house yesterday (finally), to drop off some more flannel for the diapers she is making. Apparently we never cut enough large white flannel diapers, so we had a short visit and she gave me the four dozen large diapers that she has already made and said she would get to the other dozen in a few weeks. I don't think there is a big panic for the large diapers yet, the small ones should fit for a few months (I hope?).

I love getting off work early, I feel like I hubby gets so much done!! ;) We have been having dinner early and then usually relax for an hour and then he usually gets to work. Yesterday he did lots, he installed the floor (it went in quick and only took about an hour), then vacuumed the carpet. OK so maybe now that I write it down it was only two things but it felt like we did lots!? he he I got to sweep the new floor (so at least I feel like I helped) and I did a few loads of laundry, then made banana bread! Friends of ours came over last night too for a short visit, it was nice to see them again - they live kinda far away so we don't get to visit as often as I would like.

So the plan for the next few days is .... doctor appointment today (which I'm pretty excited about -- I will probably never say that again!?), then racing tonight (if it doesn't rain?). Tomorrow is a big "Father's Day Funny Car Show" at the track, it will be an all day all night event so I hope I can get through it OK? I'm a little concerned about the show, these cars are loud, fast and give off a vibration when they are full throttle so I'm a little worried that they might induce something but if that happens at least there is a ambulance on hand if needed! Sunday is the same show but since it is Fathers Day it will be free admission so it should be a full house! Hopefully by Monday hubby can paint the floor boards/ chair rail and Monday night he can put it in the room and install the closet organizer. Then all that is left to do is set up the crib and put all the clothes away! :)

mini - Friday !!

Apparently there is this thing called "pregnancy mask", that some pregnant women get while pregnant. Some say it looks like you have a mask around your face, I tried to find a pic of it on the net but they weren't very good. So, anyway ~ I think I am getting or have this !? My checks have these little rosy circles there that I don't think were there before ? It kinda looks like I stayed out in the cold for too long, maybe this is what they mean by "glow" ? I was thinking the other day that maybe we should have went with a puppy instead? And if you don't know that story I'll give you the short version ..... before Christmas I told my hubby that I either wanted a puppy or to be pregnant ... as you can guess, we got pregnant so no puppy for me at Christmas!! Which I was totally fine with at the time but now .... I'm thinking a puppy would have been easier and less painful! ;) I know .... it will all be worth it in the end and I will more then likely forget most of the crap I have been through and am going to go through and I know I will probably fall in love with being a Mom and try to convince hubby that we should just have one more but that won't happen! He will remind me, his memory is much better then mine! ;) So after this one, if I crave that mothering feeling I will go the puppy way instead!!

I got some diapers cut last night after I took the dog for a quick walk, I only have about two more dozen to go! :P Hubby is still going strong with the basement renos, which is nice, I'm sure it will be done before I now it! Or at least mostly done? He usually goes strong till the project is almost done and then slacks when it comes to the finishing details! ? But it will be livable and use able by the time baby gets here. I had some really bizarre dreams last night, of course I can't really remember them but I do remember waking up thinking ..... wow - that was weird?! he he I have this funny after taste in my mouth that is driving me nuts, I'm not sure if it is from the antibiotics I am on or if it is a pregnancy thing but it is definitely annoying! It makes me want to suck on candies or keep eating/ drinking to get rid of it but it soon comes back after the candy or food is gone!? I can't wait for my doctors appointment next week, I have a ton of questions for her, I think I felt my first braxton hicks yesterday but then again it could have just been gas?! he he

Just another day ...

So if you don't already know we are going to try and use cloth diapers instead of disposables. I'm not doing it to be enviromental or for other reasons people may say but I would like to use cloth because I've heard that it is easier to potty train the child, they will recognize the "wet" feeling sooner then kids that use disposables. My hubbies aunt is going to sew them all for us, all we have to do is cut the pattern and she will zip them together. But lately she has been bugging my MIL as to where the material is so I guess she wants to get started on them, which is nice ~ at least she wants to be prepared! ;) So, the inlaws stopped by last night after dinner to drop off the diaper material that needs to be cut still. My MIL has already cut all the white flannel that goes inside the diaper (5 dozen regular size and 3 dozen newborn size) she has also cut all the flannel with a pattern that goes on the outside for the newborn diapers so all I need to do is cut 5 dozen diapers out of the patterned material and the absorbant pads that get sewn in between. So I guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend! Which is OK cause hubby will probably be working in the basement. Last night he finished the demolision process so hopefully this weekend he will be building walls! ? :)

Blah ...

Just when I was begining to think I was in the clear I got a phone call yesterday. From my doctors office, I thought they were suppost to phone by last Friday but I guess the lab took longer then they expected!? So yes - it turns out that I do have an issue that needs to be taken care of, so after work yesterday I had to stop at the drug store and pick up some Canesten (something I have never used before!)? I wouldn't say that it was comfortable but I figured it out and it wasn't as bad as I thought!? So I have have treatment for 3 days and then all should be good?!

This week feels like it is going by so slow! I wish it was Friday already!? Here is a pic of the diaper pail I want to get from the welcome wagon show. It has a spot in the lid for a "citrus puck" (air freshener) and it snaps down with one hand. I checked out the companies website and it is only $29.95 - not bad! ? It looks like it would hold way more diapers then I would ever need it to, I just like the air freshener lid! ;) The pucks that go in the lid are only $2.00 each and supposidly last up to 3-4 weeks but the lady at the show said that you can go buy your own sented oil and add drops to a old puck so it can be reused. I also want to call the UC Baby place to see how early you need to book them, I think we will get one of their packages! It looks like so much fun! And I got a $20 off coupon from the show, so that almost pays for the heartbeat bear! ;)

mini - friday!

Lost my breakfast this morning, I didn't even feel sick but I had this cough that I think encouraged my tummy to reject breakfast?! So I brought a extra pack of oatmeal with me to work just in case I feel like having breakfast later?

Last night was a pretty rough night, I had cramps for most of the evening and even took a nice warm bath that seemed to help a bit. I haven't had a full nights sleep in so long I can't even remember!? We go to bed fairly early (9:30pm) cause we are tired but then I seem to always wake up at 1:30am just to look at the clock and confirm that yes it is only 1:30 and I need to go back to sleep. Then again I will wake up at 4:30am and usually toss and turn till 6:30 when it is finally time to get up!? Maybe it is my bodies way of getting me prepared for when baby is here? I also had some interesting dreams last night - first I had a dream about a wagon wheel!? not too sure what that is about but I did bring one in my lunch today!! ;) Then I had a weird dream about doing a cash out at some garage and counting the money but someone had tricked us and paid with "funny money" instead of real money and there was a $325 dollar bill!? I don't think they even make a $325 bill!? But I saw one in my dream! :) There was one more weird dream too but of course now I can't remember what it was about!?

I'm so excited for Christmas to get here, I feel like we are finally a "family", even though there is no little one yet. And at least this year no one will be asking me about "any baby news yet?". Everyone should know by then and I will just have to listen to everyone congratulating us and probably saying "it's about time"! Some people can be so rude without even knowing that what they are saying is kinda rude! How do they know that we haven't been trying since we got married two years ago, how do they know if we had to do some interesting things just in order to encourage the swimmers to swim (like maybe I had to stand on my head!?) LOL

I also need to find some motivation! Laundry is starting to pile up and it really doesn't look too appealing to me to finish! It's one of those tedious jobs that never seems to be finished and is always on going! I'm sure it will only get worse, especially since I plan on using cloth diapers! ;)
