So we finished our first week at the new day home, or rather the first 3 days - cause Jacob only goes Tues till Thurs. I'm just not sure about this day home, but I suppose I'd feel that way about every day home that I have to take Jacob too? Tuesday seemed to go really well, when I went to pick him up she told me that he had just woke up from a nap (which made me worry that he wouldn't want to go to bed at his usual time but he did) and he slept through the entire night without waking once!! I was amazed and had my hopes set high that this would happen every time, I was wrong! So on Wednesday when I went to pick him up he was just sitting on their couch like he was waiting for me(which is weird and the same thing happened on Tues), he never sits still for me like that?! And she tells me that he didn't have a nap that day, which is not really a big deal - sometimes that happens. But when I got home he was sooooo hungry we couldn't make supper fast enough, he was so upset! We ended up giving him a bit of milk before supper and he still ate way more then he normally would!? So on Thursday I pick him up and again he is just sitting on their couch but this time she has him ready to go in his jacket and boots. She tells me that again he didn't nap!?!? So I asked her what she did the first day that he napped and she said nothing ... he just played till he crashed on the couch!? So I tell her that at home we usually just put him in his crib, give him a bottle and he falls asleep (I know it's bad but it's the only way he will fall asleep, without going for a drive). Then I asked about meals and what he ate cause he was starving the day before and she said they had roast beef and mashed potatoes that day for lunch but it was hard to get him to eat, which is possible (especially beef). Then when I was driving home I was thinking .... where were the veggies? He likes veggies and prob would have ate them? Thankfully hubby had dinner completely ready when I walked in the door so there was no waiting for supper to cook, so Jacob couldn't get cranky. But both days that he never napped he didn't sleep well at night either, I think he was overtired and just had a restless sleep. Hopefully next week is better or I might have to find another day home. The dayhome lady also said to me that he seems really shy and rarely leaves the little sunk in living room they have?! I know it does take him a while to warm up to people but not usually this long and it's odd that he doesn't want to leave the living room? I wonder if the other kids are picking on him? I wish I had a nanny cam so I could see what they do all day! It just seems like at the first day home they were teaching him things and here I'm not sure she is doing anything with him? It's so hard to trust a complete stranger with your child and hope that they do all the things you want while they look after 3-4 other kids!? :(symptoms, feelings, all the crap you thought you knew and a few you might not have! I'm laying it all out on the table - even the dirty stuff! ;)

FINALLY !!! A full nights sleep!!! :)
Above are a few pics from the Moms group Halloween party, it was so hard to get pictures of all the kiddies - they don't sit still very long and it seems like when they are still it's cause they are eating and have messy faces!! :) The party was good, and if it wasn't for one of the Moms stepping up and volunteering her house I don't think the party would have happened!? Some Moms are very concerned about H1N1 and didn't even want to come out if anyone even had a sniffle!? I'm not saying that H1N1 isn't something to laugh about but I don't want to live in a bubble and I don't think Jacob should either! So the next get together will probably be for Christmas and I am already excited!! :)
So .... not sure if you read the title of this but FINALLY last night we had a FULL night sleep!! From 9pm till 6:30am!!! It was amazing, he woke at about 3am and I heard him whining a bit but he just fell back asleep !! I hate to say it but I think hubby might have been right about the bed!!!??! Yesterday we put a fluffy comforter on his bed and covered it up with another fuzzy sheet so the bed was a little softer then before. Maybe that is why? I guess we will find out tonight!?!? If he sleeps through the night again tonight then I guess Jacob just likes a softer bed? I also finally found the "Huggies bedtime" diapers and decided to buy a pack (they were on sale and I had a $3.00 off coupon) they are suppose to be more absorbent. I must say .... they SUCK!!! :( Jacob woke up this morning with wet pj's because his diaper couldn't absorb anymore! Which is kinda funny cause he didn't even wake up during the night for a bottle and before I was using "Pampers Baby Dry" and never changed him in the middle of the night and they didn't make his pj's wet! I think we are sticking to Pampers Baby Dry - they seem to absorb way better!!
Finally, below is a pick of all the kiddies at the Halloween party, all of Jacobs friends! It was soooo hard to get a good pic! Jacob is squishing Kayden (red parrot) and the rest of the kids are crying, Izzy (in all white) is suppose to have a red hat that looks like a mushroom top. It was crazy! Next time we will have to figure out how to get a good pic!?

Happy Halloween!
Our weekend was good, very busy but aren't they always!? I have pics I posted too!! How exciting!!! :D
So Saturday I let hubby sleep in and I got up with Jacob at 6:30am, then he had a good nap from 9:30am - 12:30pm, I wanted to go to the mall and get some pics done of Jacob in his costume (posted below) but we had a Halloween party with the Moms group at 2pm so I felt a little rushed. Thankfully there was no line to get pics done and we were in and out, then headed to the party. It was nice to see all the moms and kiddies again, I haven't seen some of them since the birthday party. We left there around 4pm and had to rush to go see the Great Grandparents and in laws, Jacob got his little pumpkin bucket filled up with candy and then off we headed home to have supper and do a little trick or treating around our house. Jacob seemed to really like trick or treating and one of his little friends (who's 2 1/2) was really into it! It was fun, we walked the block and headed home.
Sunday was my day to sleep in and it was daylight savings day so technically I got an extra hour to sleep then hubby!! :) We have swim class on Sundays and after swimming I headed to St.Albert to take my Dad shopping. I dropped Jacob off at my Moms to babysit so that it wouldn't be so hard for me to go shopping (which was great!). Dad was shopping for a new recliner for upstairs and we finally found one after looking in 5 stores!! Dad just stayed in the car and I would go in too see if there was anything I thought he would like, then tell him what I saw. It was tiring, in and out of the car so many times but at least he finally found one he liked and it was only $350! I also had a very quick visit with a girlfriend in St.Albert while I was out there and stayed for a quick visit at my Moms. It was a good weekend!
The time change was a little hard on Sunday night for Jacob, he passed out at 7:30pm and of course woke in the middle of the night but not only once but twice!?! I'm so frustrated with him waking, he shouldn't be at this point in his life.... he should be sleeping through the night!? Hubby and I got in a huge argument last night because I say that we need to let Jacob CIO (cry it out) and hubby refuses to let him cry that long. Hubby is OK if he is kinda whinny and moaning but if Jacob is actually wailing then he will give in and gets mad that I wont go to him. And don't get me wrong ... it breaks my heart to sit there and listen to him wail and cry but EVERYONE says that this is something that NEEDS to be done! Jacob needs to learn how to fall back asleep on his own after waking in the middle of the night!? It very frustrating that hubby isn't on the same page as me. He won't even water down his bottle!? Says all that will do is make him bloated!? I wish hubby would leave for a week or two, just go live somewhere else and then maybe I could get it done? When I ask hubby for other ideas on how to get him to sleep he suggests that maybe Jacobs bed is too hard cause apparently Jacob slept through the night at Grandmas one night and hubby thinks that maybe it was because they have a fluffy mattress in the playpen!? I'm tired of arguing about it and have now refused to get out of bed when Jacob cries, which I think only irritates hubby but I feel like if this is what hubby wants to do then HE can get up and do it! Personally I'm done with getting up in the middle of the night!!
So below you will notice that on the left are Halloween pics from last year and on the right are pics from this year ... Jacob is in the same outfit and same shirt he wore last year!! :o I had so many of the Moms comment that he has slimmed out a lot! I'm sure you can also see a difference!! :) I will post pics tomorrow of the Moms Halloween party.

been too long....
It's been a while since I last updated and not that a bunch of stuff has happened I have been keeping busy!! We had our race banquet last weekend, it was nice to get out (just the two of us) and hubby even won a trophy!! He won the "drag staff appreciation award", it was the second time he won this trophy and I do believe it was well earned but both of us kinda thought he was going to win a different trophy (one for the most dedicated employee - I forget what it was called but it goes to the employee that always gives 110%).
Jacob has been sleeping better, still waking at least once during the night (except when he had the sleep over at the in laws -- I'm soooo jealous!!). It makes me wonder what I'm doing wrong? Why will he sleep through the night for the in laws but wakes for us every night? I have tried cutting his naps down and I have tried letting him nap longer (thinking that maybe he was over tired?) Hubby and I butt heads over giving him a bottle at 2am, I say we need to maybe let him cry it out OR water down the milk until eventually it is just water. He for whatever reason doesn't like either of those ideas. He thinks that by watering down the milk it will make Jacob bloated!? and he doesn't think that the cries Jacob has are cries that he will fall back asleep from (not that we have ever tried). I'm at my wits end, I get embarrassed when people say "o-well at least he is at the age where you are getting more sleep" or ask how his sleeping is, we got more sleep when he was 6 months old then we do now and I know we HAVE to STOP giving him milk to fall asleep! It's hard when you aren't on the same page!! Maybe hubbies eyes will open soon, he has improved a bit and will now let Jacob cry it out at bedtime but just not at 2am!?
I'm also confused about the H1N1 vaccine!? I'm stuck between getting it or not!? I've heard scary stories from both sides. Hubby doesn't think it is necessary, and I kinda believe that the flu virus changes all the time so even if you do get the H1N1 vaccine you can still get H1N5 virus (which is apparently way worse!). I have never gotten the flu vaccine before and I have never caught the flu so do I take my chances with something that sounds so big!?
I'm taking my Dad shopping next week, he needs some warm clothes and groceries, plus he wanted to buy some Christmas gifts for the kids. He also wants to go shopping for a new recliner. I think it will be too much for one day, for a guy that barely gets out to do all that shopping - I think it will definitely tucker him out! It's good though that he is excited to go shopping and is willing to buy new things for himself, he was always the type that believed if it's not broke don't fix it (or buy new). But he is also talking to me about his funeral arrangements which is kinda weird to me, our family barely talked about small issues never mind talking about death and what our plans are!
Jacob and I went to a Discovery Toy party last night, it was fun, we have been to them before and Jacob enjoys their toys. Tonight I am going out for coffee with the girls (I'm soooo excited!) I'm thinking it might be a late night though!! Then tomorrow I am having a Creative Memories party that I was kinda roped into having but if it gets me free stuff then it's all good! Saturday is Halloween and the Mom group is trying to organize a party, I also want to take Jacob to a few houses 'trick or treating' then we have to be home in time to help hand out candy at our house!
On the weight loss front ... I'm sure you've probably noticed my tickers haven't budged for a while!? It's hard when life is so hectic and I want to spend my evenings/ weekends with Jacob. He just isn't really into sitting in a stroller for a half hour or more so I can go for a walk and pretty soon it is going to be so cold out that I don't think I will want to take him out for a walk! I think I need to get a small TV and set it up in the basement beside my treadmill. It's just frustrating, it seems like I know all the things that I'm "suppose" to do with weight loss and weaning Jacob off the bottle but they are so hard to do.

Sleeping is over rated anyway ..... right!?
Other then Jacobs horrible sleep habits not too much else is new. Thanksgiving is this weekend and I am going to try to cook my very first turkey!!! I invited a few friends over for a potluck on Sat and I'm hoping I don't make them all sick!! :P I'm sure it will be fine as long as the turkey isn't pink or so dried out it turns into jerky!
I haven't seen my Dad for a little while, it has been hard to see him now that I'm back at work and last weekend we were busy with track stuff. I keep forgetting to ask hubby if we can go over there on Thursday night so maybe I can go there this weekend or have him over for leftover turkey!!
In weight loss news ... it's going OK, I wasn't that great on my holidays but still managed to loose a few. But then last weekend I wasn't "good" at all! We went out with friends and even though I wasn't hungry I still ordered and ate. Then we had friends over at our house and ordered Chinese, the worst "diet" food out there!! I had no will power and gave in very easy, I must be stronger, need to find my will power!! I posted my tickers so hopefully I will look forward to seeing them move in the right direction!?

dayhome search, holidays and NS
Well, I'm back at work ... holidays were good - I feel like I got lots done, not everything I wanted but still it was good. I did some serious cleaning, set up our "guest room" in the basement and cleaned out my flower beds for winter! We found a day home, in a way it sucks cause I know that MIL made sure Jacob was taken care of 110%, fed well and they always had outdoor activities and at the day home I'm just not as certain that he is eating good and getting some fresh air!? But at least this way he has interaction with other kids and will hopefully pick up on "good" behavior! Yesterday was his first full day at the day home and he let me leave him there no problem, a quick hug and I left ... no tears - it was nice! Then I went to pick him up at 5pm and apparently he had just woke from a nap and was a little upset but he is always upset when he wakes for whatever reason!? He didn't seem like he was in a huge hurry to leave and he wasn't too clingy when I got there. The day home lady is from the Philippines and is sometimes hard to understand but seems like a nice lady and I've always heard good things about Philippines and that they are hard workers and family is important to them. I guess we will see how this week is, I might still try looking for a different day home - it's just so hard to trust a complete stranger!?
On the diet front I am down almost 5lbs! Not too bad, could be better but at least the scale is going in the right direction! And I must say that it was hard to stay on track on my holidays so I'm hoping that now that I'm back at work I will see better results cause I can stay on track. I'm liking the new NS products and find that some of my old staples are no longer satisfying so it is nice to have new choices! I'm going to set a mini-goal that by Christmas I will loose another 15lbs! Should be do-able, that is only 5lbs a month!?
Lately we have been having a hard time with Jacob and his sleeping!? It seems to be getting worse not better, like I thought it should as he gets older!? Before he was 6 months old he used to sleep straight through the night from like 8 till 6am!? Now he goes to bed around 9pm and lately has been waking every 3 hours?!!? It's very frustrating and I'm not sure why, he used to wake up and coo in his crib, now he wakes up screaming! I wish I knew why it changed and how I can correct it! I'm certain that we aren't really helping the situation cause we know that if he wakes we just change him and feed him then he will go back to sleep no problem but if we don't give him that bottle then he won't go back to sleep right away and at 3am the last thing you want to do is pace the halls!? But if we keep giving him milk at 3am then he will keep waking at 3am for the feeding!? I'm almost certain that he just has the bottle as a comfort thing and it's like a soother for him which makes me almost want to try giving him a soother instead to see if that will help him sleep but then I think it's crazy to give him a soother now!? He is 15 months old and has gone this long without one, why start a new habit!? But at least this way he won't need that feeding and it might be easier to potty train him cause he will wake up dry?!
Speaking of potty training ... it's the craziest thing but Jacob is showing interest in using the potty and if we ask him if he has to use it he will go to the bathroom, grab his potty seat that is on the floor beside the toilet, put the seat on the toilet and wait for you to undress him. 80% of the time he usually pees on the potty! It amazes me that he has already connected the 2, he understands the urge to pee and where he is suppose to do it! We aren't pushing it too much but usually once a day he uses it, hopefully it will continue but I've heard a lot of people say that he will prob revert back and not use it for a while!?

No lunch! ? WTF? ?

another rough night ....
-Got off work @ 4:30pm, headed to pick up Jacob from inlaws
-Stayed for super at inlaws so I didn't have to worry about making anything which was nice,
-Needed groceries and wanted to buy a new sprinkler cause I don't like the one we have, left inlaws at 5:30ish
-Zellars was sold out of sprinklers (WTH?), went home to figure out the one we have
-Played with Jacob in the yard for a bit, took him for a ride in his Cozy Coupe, by now it was 7:30pm
-Bath time for Jacob and pj's
-8:30pm Jacob's goes to bed, I catch up on shows I recorded and tidy the house a bit.
-I go to bed at 10:30pm ..... now the rough part starts ...
-hubby gets home at 11:30, I wake up .....
-dog is pacing the floor at 12:30am, I wake up and let her out ....
-Jacob wakes up at 1:30am, I get up change him give him a bottle (I know, I shouldn't but it works)
-finally I get a few hours of sleep and then Jacob wakes again at 4:30am!! This time we kind of ignore him and he falls back asleep till 6am,
-I bring Jacob in bed with us, he hits me in the head with his toy, I get out of bed and decided to get ready for work!
I'm tired! And I have to work at the track tonight so I won't get home till at least midnight! Thankfully Jacob is having his usual Friday night sleep over at the inlaws and I don't have to pick him up until noon on Sat! But as I mentioned in yesterday's post I have LOTS to do this weekend so I probably can't sleep in too long, maybe just till 8:30?! :)
It's official our home computer has a virus that is impossible to fix so we need to get a new computer. I'm really not too upset at the fact that we need a new computer cause the old one was slow and irritated me. However, I'm extremely worried that I will not be able to get the pics of Jacobs first year and movies off the computer!! I guess this is why everyone tells you to make hard copies!? grrrrr !

37 weeks !! Officially at term!
It's official, I'm full term today and could potentially have a healthy baby any day now!! The other night I was sterilizing nipples and soothers and hubby walked by and asked "you're doing that already?" - now I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny or if he seriously doesn't realize just how close we are to having a baby!? I just gave him a look and he walked away! ;)
My boss has been letting me leave early the past few days, usually around 3ish, which is nice cause I'm so tired around 2pm - especially yesterday cause I didn't sleep so well the night before. Speaking of sleep, my crazy pregnancy dreams are back! I sometimes like to remember my dreams but some of the dreams I have been having aren't very nice ones and I really would rather not remember them!? I will be leaving extra early today cause I have my 37 week doctor appointment at 2pm and probably won't be coming back to work after. I think I get an internal today so I'm curious to see how close I really am to giving birth!? Then next week I think I will only be working till 1ish, depending on how busy we are - it seems like the busy we are the easier the day is but when we are slow I get very sleepy!! Then Friday the 13th will probably be my last day!? Even though I'm kinda superstitious and don't really like the idea of leaving on Friday the 13th~!?
On my way home yesterday I stopped in at the diaper service store and picked up my diaper pail, then after a quick nap and supper hubby finished painting the babies room. It looks pretty good so far, now we just need to finish it!! I feel so helpless, if only I could help hubby with the room it would probably go faster but instead I made muffins! ;) We have quite the list of things we still need for the room so I'm seriously hoping it rains all weekend (or at least in the morning, just enough to cancel the races then get nice again!). We need to still buy baseboards, chair rail, a vent, plug-ins/ covers, shelves, ceiling fan/ light, a heavy blind, flooring and some white paint!! :o It's suppose to rain but it was also suppose to rain yesterday and never did so keep doing that rain dance (at least in the morning) ! ;)
I also packed my bag last night, so I guess I'm kinda ready now!? Hopefully I remembered everything, if not I'm sure we can pick it up at a store or it's not really needed!? I do still have a few things I need to pick up, like a nursing bra, nursing pads and a change table cover but hopefully if it rains I will have lots of time to go shopping while hubby works on the bedroom.

Happy Hump Day! ;)
I ended up buying two bottles last night at the grocery store (just in case I need them) they are the liner type which is suppose to be BPA (?) free. I also bought some Lanolin cream (for breastfeeding mothers) that of course didn't ring through the till and I was worried that they would page for a price check on breast cream on isle 4!! :o But he never, he just sold it to me for $5, which I thought was fare? I also picked up some baby wipes, which I know my Mom has already bought for me but I forgot them at her house last time I was there. So now - I just need to pick up a dirty diaper pail, nursing bra and some nursing pads. I was wondering too, since we are using cloth diapers do you think it is weird to use the diaper pail as a laundry hamper as well or should I just put the dirty diapers in there and have a separate laundry hamper for clothes?
I have turned into such a sloppy eater!! I can barely get through a meal without slopping on myself! I used to be able to wear my mat shirts for more then one day cause it's not like I work hard in them and work up a sweat but now I almost have to wear two shirts a day or at least pack a spare shirt with me in case I slop on myself! Maybe I'm preparing myself for the spit up and baby drool!? I still can't believe that there is only about 23 days left, I must say it did go by fast but I think I liked it that way. I told my boss today that next week I don't think I can work full days anymore, next week I think I will leave around 2ish? Then the week after I will leave at noon and the week after that I won't even be here. I was just to tired yesterday I could barely do anything, hubby had to help me to bed at 8:30!! And even though I was up every two hours to pee I do feel a bit better today but still tired, it's like I don't get a deep sleep they are just little power purrs to get me through the day.

stiff and sore
I didn't get a very good sleep last night but there really isn't much new about that, I don't think I've had a full nights sleep since I was 3 months pregnant!? Lately my neck has been stiff and sore which leads to a headache and a all around crappy feeling! I don't expect it to get any better even after baby is born. Lack of sleep usually leads to tension in the neck which leads to headaches and I don't expect to get deep sleep once baby is here, just little "power purrs"! FIL came over again last night and helped work on the basement, I think they are now finished mudding and sanding. Which is great cause not only does that mean we are one step closer to putting paint on the walls but the amount of dust in the house will be next to nothing now! I can't wait to dust off my washer and dryer and not have to worry about dropping an item of clothing on the dusty floor while trying to get all my clean clothes into the dryer! I figure maybe by mid-May we will be working on the baby room? It's hard to say for sure though, with summer here it seems like every weekend is booked with something - either working at the track, helping family (build a fence/ roof a house), going quading or a wedding and those are just the things I remember going on !! And during the week we work so there really isn't too much time to start projects at 7:00 at night or we have our baby class!? It's quite overwhelming - I'm not worried that it won't get done but I'm just not sure everything will get done before baby is here!? O - well! ?

No sleep = very grumpy! :(
