I got myself to the gym twice this week!! And I'm feeling it today, my legs are sore and my upper arms from step & tone class. Then last night we walked from our house to the park where our community was celebrating Canada Day, which is about a 20 minute walk. We arrived there quiet early though and needless to say Jacob got bored fast so we ended up walking around a lot! Finally the fireworks went off at 11pm and I think Jacob LOVED them!! I took a few pictures so I will have to post them. It was a really late night for him and I thought for sure he would have slept in this morning but no... he was up at 7am! :(
This week has kinda sucked health wise. We found out on Saturday that hubbies Grandma was sick in the hospital with a stomach aneurysm. Which was apparently much more serious then I had imagined! The doctor was trying to convince her not to have the surgery because she was such a high risk! They even went as far as pretty much asking her if she had a DNR!? It was pretty scary but she said she had to have the surgery so that she could see her Great Grandson grow up. She seems to be doing good now and even though she had two heart attacks while on the table she seems to be recovering good! Then we got news that the doctors are no longer going to be treating my Dad with chemo, they pretty much said that the chemo isn't doing any good and that maybe he can have a few 'good' days before it gets much worse. Hopefully they are right and he can enjoy the last few months, hopefully his appetite will increase and he can do a few more things on that bucket list!
Then on Wednesday Jacob had his 2yr check up!! Everything seems good with him, the doctor was very happy with his progress. He weighed in at 27.3lbs and is 34" tall!! So the wife's tale is ... at the age of 2 you take their height and times it by 2 and that is about how tall your child will be. So for Jacob if this is true he should be 68", which works out to 5 foot 6 inches, on the short side but that is expected. His Dad and Grandpa are both shorter then me so if we are lucky he will get a few extra inches from my blood lines and maybe be as tall as me!? I find it funny though that at 6 months old I think he weighed in at 20ish lbs!! So in a year and a half he only gained 7lbs!? Wowsers!! He was one chucky baby!! LOL

couldn't feel the baby move and it wasn't normal, that her baby was a very active baby. So every 4 hours they would hook her up to a non-stress test to see how the baby was doing and you could hear the baby moving like crazy but she would continue to insist that she couldn't feel it. If the baby did slow down a bit the nurses had this trick where they took an empty pop can and would crush it to make that tin noise - this would get baby moving! I thought it was neat cause not only would it make her baby move but mine would also react to the pop can crushing sound!? How weird is that! So of course I told my hubby about it so now at home he is trying out the pop can theory and tries to get baby active by crushing his cans! ;)

Everyone seems to really like the 3D one where it looks like baby is rubbing his eyes but I kinda wish I had a pic that showed the facial features a little beter?! Even though it is really cute, maybe on the next ultrasound I can get a more detailed pic?
