2yr check up!! :D

So, I feel like I have been really busy but then when I go to write about it .... it doesn't sound like much?

I got myself to the gym twice this week!! And I'm feeling it today, my legs are sore and my upper arms from step & tone class. Then last night we walked from our house to the park where our community was celebrating Canada Day, which is about a 20 minute walk. We arrived there quiet early though and needless to say Jacob got bored fast so we ended up walking around a lot! Finally the fireworks went off at 11pm and I think Jacob LOVED them!! I took a few pictures so I will have to post them. It was a really late night for him and I thought for sure he would have slept in this morning but no... he was up at 7am! :(

This week has kinda sucked health wise. We found out on Saturday that hubbies Grandma was sick in the hospital with a stomach aneurysm. Which was apparently much more serious then I had imagined! The doctor was trying to convince her not to have the surgery because she was such a high risk! They even went as far as pretty much asking her if she had a DNR!? It was pretty scary but she said she had to have the surgery so that she could see her Great Grandson grow up. She seems to be doing good now and even though she had two heart attacks while on the table she seems to be recovering good! Then we got news that the doctors are no longer going to be treating my Dad with chemo, they pretty much said that the chemo isn't doing any good and that maybe he can have a few 'good' days before it gets much worse. Hopefully they are right and he can enjoy the last few months, hopefully his appetite will increase and he can do a few more things on that bucket list!

Then on Wednesday Jacob had his 2yr check up!! Everything seems good with him, the doctor was very happy with his progress. He weighed in at 27.3lbs and is 34" tall!! So the wife's tale is ... at the age of 2 you take their height and times it by 2 and that is about how tall your child will be. So for Jacob if this is true he should be 68", which works out to 5 foot 6 inches, on the short side but that is expected. His Dad and Grandpa are both shorter then me so if we are lucky he will get a few extra inches from my blood lines and maybe be as tall as me!? I find it funny though that at 6 months old I think he weighed in at 20ish lbs!! So in a year and a half he only gained 7lbs!? Wowsers!! He was one chucky baby!! LOL

Not much new ...

Well, Facebook seems to be super slow this morning so I thought I would blog ... since it's been a while and all! Not too much is new, August long weekend we headed to Edson for the Slo-Pitch tournament, the drive out wasn't really great though, Jacob didn't want to nap and ended up getting over tired and really cranky!! Then just when he fell asleep we had to stop for construction on the highway!! I was so mad - of course he woke up again and then just yelled at us the whole way to Edson! It was a very long drive, we finally got out there - just in time for supper!! We played a game Friday night and won (yeah!), then played our second game Saturday, and third and fourth game on Sunday - we lost all of them! :( It's OK though, we aren't competitive we just go out to have fun and that is what we did! There was lots of family and kids at the Aunts house so Jacob had a great time playing with them although since he was the youngest the older ones tended to run from him whenever he got near (but he thought it was a game and just laughed as he chased them! he he).

Yesterday we had to take the dog to the vet, her toe nail looked funny and she kept licking it so obviously it is bugging her. When I called to make the appt. I asked if it was with her regular vet and they said no, he passed away last month!!?!? WTF? I felt horrible, he was a good vet and we have been seeing him since Roxie was a little, it's so sad! :( So Roxie has a toe infection and a eye infection, $140 later and three prescriptions - she should be better in a week or two!!

My boss is on holidays for two weeks which means I am busy cause all his customer call me plus I have to take care of my customers! It's all good though, the day goes by much faster and I don't seem to munch so much! ;)

This Friday we were kinda in a pickle for a sitter, our regular sitter (the MIL) is on holidays and I never found out until I was in Edson that we would have to find another sitter for Friday night!? It was starting to look like I might have to stay home and not go work at the track (which would have been OK but I do enjoy going out on Friday night) BUT I think my Mom is going to come over and watch Jacob at our house and the sitter we have for Mon-Wed said he would come Friday morning! Yeah!! So it looks like I still might be able to go out Friday night but I can't stay out too late and I won't get my Sat sleep in or Sat morning cleaning done! I am going to try and do some cleaning tonight so it's not so much for the weekend. We have friends in town from Belize and are planning a BBQ Sat night at my Dads, actually it is going to be chili and fry jack but the family and friends will all be there. I think the plan was to help Dad with some housework/ yard work and then have supper so hopefully it's not too long of a day for Dad?

just a quicky!

So just a quicky today .... I think Jacob is going to be waking soon from his nap. I have a new mini challenge, one of the swim moms mentioned how she was interested in shedding a few pounds so I challenged her! She wants to loose 10lbs by June 12th, which works out to more then 2lbs a week!!! This for me will be a challenge in itself but maybe now I will have the motivation and drive to follow my diet and exercise more!? Well I can hope anyway!!??! ;)

This weekend my hubby is helping his parents shingle their roof so I will be hanging out there lots, not helping but socializing and probably getting in the way! My FIL injured his eye last week playing hockey and needed two surgeries to fix his eye!! We still aren't sure if he will be able to keep his eye and we are almost certain that he will never have 100% vision in that eye! It's scary to think that something that seems so minor can affect the rest of your life in so many ways! He's not aloud to drive for 10 weeks and probably shouldn't go back to work for a few weeks but knowing him he will want to go back soon!?

O - I hear someone waking! Better go now, I just wanted to let you know of my mini-challenge. There's not much else going on right now anyway, I'll post again soon .... I hope!! ;)

Week 4 weigh in and other stuff

I know ... once again it has been forever since I posted! I have an excuse this time though! I haven't been feeling good, I think it was the stomach flu, well .... first it was just a sore throat, then the stomach flu, and now I have an eye infection and head cold! I have been to the doctors and ER more this week then I have all year! Tuesday we headed to the ER cause Jacob's eyes were all goopy and gross, I was worried it might be pink eye and I kinda trust the doctors at the ER more then the Medi-center so that is where we headed and lucky we were in and out of there in 45 minutes!! I know - I couldn't believe it either!! :O The doctors there said it was just a viral infection (something I'm hearing a lot of lately) and that it will just clear up they blamed the goop on blocked tear ducts. O-well better safe then sorry in my opinion.

Then on Wednesday I still wasn't feeling good and all I had been able to eat was toast for the past 3 days so I was feeling pretty weak. My stomach was rumbling so loud that it seriously sounded like thunder in my belly! But it wasn't hungry growl noise it was more like gas noise - anyway I was sick of feeling it and headed back to the hospital (thinking that the night before was a breeze - in and out in no time) but no such luck!! I walked in and the ER was packed!! People had been there for 4 hours and were still waiting so since I had already paid for parking I decided to wait and see how things went. Well the longer I waited the more my tummy hurt so after 3 hours of waiting I headed to the medi-center to see how busy they were (I figured if they were also busy at least I still had my spot at the hospital and would come back). I should have just went to the medi-center to begin with, I was in and out in an hour and a half with some prescription to help slow down my digestion. They next day I started feeling better but early in the morning I got a nose bleed that didn't want to stop and my eyes started to goop like Jacobs. But I decided I needed to get out and we went to swim class anyway (it was the last class and I wanted his report card). Well as you can probably guess, my nose bleed came back at swim class (after in the change room thankfully) and then again later that night!? So I was worried that it was a side effect from the prescription so today I go back to the doctors to get my eyes checked and ask about my nose bleed. Wow - that was a long story hey!? Hope your still with me..... anyway ... long story short - my nose bleeds are just cause I am sick and the eye goop is the same thing Jacob had but I went for blood work just in case.

My MIL looked after Jacob today while I ran around to the doctors which was a nice break, I'm so tired from just being sick and not eating. I stepped on the scale today and saw that I have already lost 6 pounds (un-official of course), I kinda hope they stay off, I don't need them but it isn't the best weight loss plan. The funny thing though is that I was quite satisfied with just having toast and didn't feel hungry at all!? Guess that's what happens when your sick. My eyes are bugging the crap out of me though, especially at night after a long day, staring at the computer probably isn't helping much either!?

Well I wanted to post a little bit about Jacobs 8 month b-day as well .... not too much is new surprisingly he still weighs 21lbs and 14oz!? He hasn't gained a thing and if anything he might have lost a few ounces? He did grow half and inch though and is now 28" !! He is rolling both ways now like a pro and he likes to stand, I posted a pic of him standing by the couch. He still only has two teeth and his sleeping went from bad to back to normal (he was getting up at 1am for a feeding and would go back to sleep but that seems to have stopped - knock on wood!) That's about all - I think?

So now for my week 4 weigh in (4 days late) .... I lost -1.2lbs (this weigh in was taken on Monday before my "toast diet" so my next weigh in should be more then is). I know it's kinda confusing when I don't post my weigh in's on the weigh in day ... I must get better at that! Good news is that I think I was the only one to loose weight last week in the New Mom Biggest Loser Challenge and if the weight I lost from me being sick stays off then I might have a chance at winning!? But we are going out for supper on Sunday so who knows what my weigh in numbers will be?! That's all for now - hopefully I will post again on Tuesday with my weigh in numbers (if not sooner)!!

New Years Resolutions

Well I officially weighed in yesterday morning and it was pretty bad ... 211.6lbs!! I almost wish I never would have got my gallbladder out cause at least with it in I was too scared to eat the fatty foods that I seem to crave now! I have a tough decision, I really want to loose weight and I know that NS helped me last time so I'm really considering going back on NS just for a few months to get me on track and give me that push I need. And I was so close to actually placing my order that I entered my VISA number and even pressed "submit" but then the website came up with an error saying that since I am Canadian I need to place my order through their Canadian site (this is new). So I clicked onto the Canadian link and filled out another order but when I went to press "submit" I noticed that there was no place for me to put my discount code and the choices I had for meals were limited!! Then today one of our new friends asked if I was interested in joining the gym with her cause she was looking for motivation and also wants to loose the baby weight (her son is 2 1/2). Lots of the Moms from my mom group joined SpaLady which I know has a pretty good deal on right now that is only $21 a month but you have to sign a contract for 3 years (I have done this before and did use my SpaLady membership and enjoyed it but I didn't use it as much as I should have and never did see results).

So I'm stuck ...do I join SpaLady or the YMCA with our "new friend" that is only $21 a month and it would get me out, she is a pretty nice lady (young but nice). Or do I sign up for NS that I know will probably work for me in less time then a gym membership but cost more over a shorter period of time and seems to have limited items on the menu!? I wouldn't mind getting to know this new friend better but I have a feeling that I won't see the results I want from a gym pass?! But I kinda already told her I was interested in loosing weight!? Do I do both? I wish I was just naturally skinny!! I sure hope that Jacob has his fathers metabolism!! Not that it matters much with guys, it's OK for them to be a little chubby!

That's about all that is new here - today is my MIL's birthday but she is sick so we cancelled the plans we had with her and will hopefully see her on the weekend?! Swimming starts in 2 weeks - I'm pretty excited, I think Jacob might actually be able to do some of the activities this time. Speaking of Jacob, he is just getting over a cold, I got him a new doctor - a pediatrician!! I'm very excited to meet the new doctor and ask a few questions I wanted second opinions on but we don't get to meet her until March (Jacob's 9 month appointment)!

Almost Christmas

I know... it's been a while and really for no particular reason, I'm not super busy and I haven't really been doing that much - guess I'm just lazy?!

So a few things are new ... I don't feel so good today (either I ate something bad or I have a stomach bug), so far Jacob looks OK he is just sleeping more which could be from his teething (none have popped out yet) and today is Mom group day but I think we will stay home. I don't want to spread my germs if I do have any and it is suppose to be really cold out.

We started feeding Jacob real food and I must say I haven't really been sticking to the rules of rice cereal first then veggies and only one new thing every three days. I just kinda give him tastes of whatever he wants, I have given him lots of different fruits already in that teething mesh sucker thing. He seems to like the cereal and I made my own mixed veggies and carrots but I don't think my blender pureed them very well and he made funny faces from the carrots. He is not as interested in his bottle as before and wants to try everything that we are eating. Christmas should be interesting with all the taste testing he will want to do! Below is a pic of the carrots.

Mom group is great, I think it is the best thing I joined - it gets me out of the house and if I run into any problems I can ask any of them. It's nice to see how different all babies are. We had a Christmas gift exchange last week that was fun, I think all the Moms showed up (which doesn't always happen) so the house was full. I posted a pic of all of Jacobs first friends, maybe it's just cause he is my kid or maybe it's cause he is the only one in green but I think he sticks out and is the first thing I see. Or maybe it's cause he is the biggest!? LOL There are only three boys in our group and the rest are all girls!

So Jacob had his 6 month check up last week and everything was good, I mentioned to the doctor about how the nurses that give him his shots said that his soft spots were starting to get pretty small and I guess that can be a big deal if they close before they are a year old so my doctor recommended that I make a 9 month appointment to check his head. Well when I went to make the appointment the nurses told me that my doctor is pregnant and due in 3 months!! I didn't even notice!! So they aren't sure what is going to happen, I imagine they would have to get another doctor in to tend to her patients but I was thinking that maybe now would be a good time to get a referral for a pediatrician then I could get a few second opinions about some thing I worry about.

I am so tired of gaining weight and I'm so ready to get back on a diet, it seems so odd to say I'm excited to diet but I just feel like crap! My body aches from having to carry around the extra weight, my chest is starting to hurt like before, I get winded going up stairs! I remember how I felt before and I miss that youthful energetic self, now I am so lazy which doesn't help me loose weight - it's such a crappy circle - I'm lazy cause I'm fat and I'm fat cause I'm lazy! I am so stuck on weather I want to go back on NS, I know it would help me get serious and keep on track but I also know that they raised their prices and it would cost me over $300 a month! I could use the "bill me later" option but it would really be no different then using a VISA to pay for it and make smaller payments making us go into debt. And do I really want to make us go into debt over loosing weight? But I would be so much happier ... I hate having a slow metabolism! If only I was thinner, I would have more energy and could be more active! And to think I'm still about 40lbs lighter then I was - I can't even remember what that felt like and I pray that I never will!

2nd round of immunization shots

Yesterday we had our 2nd round of shots and of course a weigh in! Jacob is now 17lbs 7oz!!! :o 25" long and his head is 42" circumference. I thought he was going to be heavier so I'm kinda happy with 17lbs! The nurse showed me the graph thing that is supposedly very important. Jacob is a little low in the height (I think it was 40% and his weight was almost off the charts at 92%!!! Really it's not that big of a deal as long as he follows his chart curve, which is why I'm not sure why the chart is so important!? He is now mostly wearing 3-6 month clothes but a couple of his outfits are 6-9 month just cause I like them to be a little loose. He is drooling like crazy and needs to wear a bib almost all the time now. The needles went fairly well, I did make hubby hold him and he didn't really cry as much as last time but he whined a bit more. I forgot to give him a little Tylenol before we went and was going to give him some when we got home but he didn't need it until later (after hubby went out ~ then he started crying lots). The nurse said that sometimes a warm bath can help make the legs feel better, so we had a nice bath and I put him down at his usual 8pm bedtime but he woke up this morning at 3:30am !?!? I'm not sure why but we fed him, changed him and put him back to sleep then he was up at 7am. Hopefully he doesn't get back into the early morning feeding routine?!

Today I was already able to put one coat of primer on the cupboard doors (while Jacob had his morning nap), he is now having his afternoon nap so I am catching up on my blogs and Facebook. Then after he wakes up I want to go return the books to the library (maybe pick out a new one?) and try to find little batteries for my digital picture key chain. After supper hubby needs to go out again so I think I will head to the bowling alley and show off Jacob to our old team mates and bowling friends!?

1st road trip!!!

Well it wasn't a very long road trip, only about 2 hours but it was our first trip out of the city and kind of our first camping trip!! On August long weekend hubbies family has always gone to play slow pitch in a small town 2 hours away (Edson) and this year was no different. We packed up the car with Hubby, Jacob, the dog (Roxie), my Dad and of course myself with all our luggage and I gotta tell you the car was full!!! I can't imagine what we would do if we were going away longer then 3 days !!! We already had to ask the in laws to take the stroller, baby tent thing and our chairs with them in the truck!! The weekend was good, Edson is pretty close to the mountains and you could just barely see them from the ball diamonds. Unfortunately it was cold and rainy for most of the weekend and of course I packed more onesies then sleepers. The only nice day we had was the day we headed home .... of course! Our team one 2 out of 4 games, not bad for a team that only plays once a year!! :) Jacob was a good boy (of course - he he) and seemed to really enjoy everyone holding him cause when we got home that's all he wanted me to do!! I also must say that I think he is one of those people that can only use his bathroom at home and doesn't like going #2 away from home cause that was literally the first thing he did when we walked in the door!!! It's not like he didn't go #2 while we were away but they were just little ones, we figured it was because we didn't want to use the town water for his bottles so we were using bottled water and thought that the change in water was why he wasn't quite himself, now I just figure it's cause he was away from home!!

Today we had our 6 week appointments, they weighed Jacob in at 11lbs 14oz (almost 5lbs heavier then at birth!!) and he is now just over 22" long (3" longer then at birth). Everything was good with him, she never said anything was wrong so I can only assume he is healthy!? Same goes for me, she gave me the "OK" to go back to "our normal activities" - I think she meant sex but instead said "like exercise" - cause why else would she say "our" and include my hubby in that sentence? he he Our next appointment will be in about 6 weeks for his 3 month appointment, our doctor gave me the OK to use baby Tylenol or Advil if I think it's necessary which is good cause we might need to use it next week when he goes for his shots? I think next week is going to be a hard week for me and a little stressful, with Jacob getting his shots and I'm not too sure hubby will be there with me cause there is a big race that day, my surgery the day after his shots and I'm not sure how long recovery is supposed to be and then hubby has to work the weekend at the track so I will be pretty much on my own after just having surgery!!! :o It will be interesting and hopefully I won't be in too much pain?

Yesterday was the first time I have ever left Jacob with a sitter (kinda). I finally made my appointment for my pedicure and my girlfriend met me at the mall, so while I was getting my toes done she walked the mall with Jacob. It took an hour and a half to do my toes and the last half hour was the hardest!! Hubby doesn't understand why it is hard for me to leave him with other people and I really can't explain it but I just feel like I should enjoy every minute I can now cause pretty soon I think he will be "Daddy's boy" and will be outside wanting to help Dad all the time?

Here is one of my favorite pics from the weekend, hopefully you enjoy it as well!?

37 weeks !! Officially at term!

It's official, I'm full term today and could potentially have a healthy baby any day now!! The other night I was sterilizing nipples and soothers and hubby walked by and asked "you're doing that already?" - now I'm not sure if he was trying to be funny or if he seriously doesn't realize just how close we are to having a baby!? I just gave him a look and he walked away! ;)

My boss has been letting me leave early the past few days, usually around 3ish, which is nice cause I'm so tired around 2pm - especially yesterday cause I didn't sleep so well the night before. Speaking of sleep, my crazy pregnancy dreams are back! I sometimes like to remember my dreams but some of the dreams I have been having aren't very nice ones and I really would rather not remember them!? I will be leaving extra early today cause I have my 37 week doctor appointment at 2pm and probably won't be coming back to work after. I think I get an internal today so I'm curious to see how close I really am to giving birth!? Then next week I think I will only be working till 1ish, depending on how busy we are - it seems like the busy we are the easier the day is but when we are slow I get very sleepy!! Then Friday the 13th will probably be my last day!? Even though I'm kinda superstitious and don't really like the idea of leaving on Friday the 13th~!?

On my way home yesterday I stopped in at the diaper service store and picked up my diaper pail, then after a quick nap and supper hubby finished painting the babies room. It looks pretty good so far, now we just need to finish it!! I feel so helpless, if only I could help hubby with the room it would probably go faster but instead I made muffins! ;) We have quite the list of things we still need for the room so I'm seriously hoping it rains all weekend (or at least in the morning, just enough to cancel the races then get nice again!). We need to still buy baseboards, chair rail, a vent, plug-ins/ covers, shelves, ceiling fan/ light, a heavy blind, flooring and some white paint!! :o It's suppose to rain but it was also suppose to rain yesterday and never did so keep doing that rain dance (at least in the morning) ! ;)

I also packed my bag last night, so I guess I'm kinda ready now!? Hopefully I remembered everything, if not I'm sure we can pick it up at a store or it's not really needed!? I do still have a few things I need to pick up, like a nursing bra, nursing pads and a change table cover but hopefully if it rains I will have lots of time to go shopping while hubby works on the bedroom.

Another busy day

Another busy day today, I am at work now till probably close to 11am - then off to my 36 week doctor appointment. Which will hopefully be quick and hopefully she will have my test results or I might have to do the GBS test again!? Then I will head back to work for three hours, head home to let the dog out for a quick pee and off the the track till probably 11pm? Hubby was out at the track yesterday for most of the day and didn't crawl into bed till 12:30am then his alarm went off at 5:30am and he was headed out the door again to go back! I told him he was nuts, something I couldn't do - only get 5 hours of sleep and just to work another 18 hour day!! :o But he enjoys working out there and he does get paid to be out there so it's not like he is loosing any money by not working on cars or reno's!? I figure it is better to let him do the things he wants like this now instead of after baby is born, cause who knows how I will be feeling and I might really need his help then, I don't want him to think that this baby is going to stop him from still enjoying the things he likes and plus he gets kinda cranky when I nag him too much! he he

Hubby did make sure to fix my tap and vacuumed before he left yesterday so I was happy about that. Except the end of the hose had the wrong kind of fitting on it and I couldn't use the flower sprayer (the one that is like it's raining) so I had to use my thumb to give them a spray. I finished getting the dog smears off the window, did a couple loads of laundry and cleaned the bathrooms!! :o So I should be good for the housework for another week!? I guess I was wrong too about being finished baby laundry, I forgot that my SIL had given me a bunch of bibs and receiving blankets that she no longer needs. I also packed babies bag last night!! I really have no idea what to put in it so I put 3 diapers with 3 liners and one rubber pant, a receiving blanket, a fuzzy soft blanket, and two outfits just in case one gets messed on before we leave the hospital. I'm not sure if I missed anything? I assume that the hospital will have any other items I may have missed? We learned in baby class that you shouldn't put baby in the rubber pants right away in case of chafing and their sensitive skin? I hate how all information you get is contradicting and there will always be someone that says it's not good or wrong?

33 week doctor appt.

Today I had my 33rd week doctor appointment at 10:00am, so I came in to work for an hour then left and now I'm back at work! The appointment went well, my regular doctor was back from her vacation so things were a little slower then last time, my BP was 127/77 (not too bad), no protein or sugar in the urine and babies HB was 130bpm (a little low but maybe it was nap time?) Baby is still head down which is good but doesn't really matter too much at this point cause there is still lots of time for baby to do summer salts!? I asked the doctor about episiotomy's, which we were learning about in baby class, I would really like to avoid this procedure and only have it done if baby is in distress - which is exactly what she told me she does (only if baby is in distress). I booked my next four appointments, so the next one is in two weeks and then I go every week after that!! Next appointment is the GBS test (Group B Strep), which I have heard is common to test positive for and can be very harmful for the baby so if you test positive you will get shots every four hours before baby arrives.

There is racing again tonight and all weekend for that matter! However hubby decided to go on a quad rally out of town tomorrow instead of working at the track! :o I however will still go out and work Sat/ Sun, it's extra money - which is always nice~!! Speaking of money, I got my tax refund in the mail the other day, also for the full amount I figured out!! :) So that makes hubbies return over $1300 and my return was over $1900 - pretty good if I say so myself!! Still haven't got my pink slippy thing so I can get my registration but I can always just go in and pay for a sticker, it's not a huge deal. I also forgot to mention that the other day when I was grocery shopping I picked up some "Grapple's" they look like a apple but smell like grape Kool-Aid and have a slight grape flavor to them. They are pretty good, kinda like the apple pears or Asian pears - really juicy and not too sweet, although I'm not sure if I will buy them again - you only get 4 for $4 ? Kinda expensive and I think I like the apple pears better, but these were nice for a change? I've been working on my lists, one for what to pack in my bag, one for babies bag and one list of things I still need to buy in order to pack our bags! The lists really aren't' as long as I thought they would be which makes me wonder ..... am I forgetting something ? I don't really know what the "must haves" are? You know the things you must have before baby comes home! ? So far I've come up with:

1- car seat

2- diapers/ rubber pants

3- sleepers/ under shirts

4- coming home outfit

5- wipes/ lotions

6- bottles/ formula (just in case)

7- receiving blankets

and that's about all!? I don't want to buy too much until after my baby shower (which I'm still not sure if I will have one?) So if you think I missed something please help!! ;)

31 week doctor appt

My doctor appointment yesterday was awesome! I left work at 12:30 for my 1:20 appointment cause it is kinda a long drive and you never know how traffic or the roads are, yesterday they happened to be good cause I got to my appt at 1:05!! I'm sure that's record time!? The parking lot at the office was completely empty which was very odd, usually I have to search for a parking spot that is a good hike away! So I get to the office and tell them I'm there, I go do my thing (pee in a cup ~ negative protein and sugar) and before I could sit down they tell me to go to the blood pressure machine (123/68 ~ not bad) and right after that I go get weighed (gained 2lbs ~ not bad). Usually after I do all these things I have to go back to the waiting room to wait for an examining room but yesterday I went straight into one after I got weighed and before I could even put my shoes back on the doctor walked in!! I was amazed at how things just clicked along, no waiting in the room, it was great. As I mentioned before my regular doctor is on holidays so this time I had to see a new doctor ~ he was awesome!!! I kinda wish I could change my doctor and see him from now on!! When I was younger I always shy'd away from the male doctors but now I'm thinking I was wrong by judging them before trying one?! So anyway ..... he walks in the room and asks how I am, mentions how I'm 31 weeks along and how he noticed in my chart how I was having problems with my gallbladder and how things were going with that. It was amazing that he was just the doctor filling in but yet seemed to care and know so much about me - like he actually looked up my history before seeing me! Not even my regular doctor can remember what week I'm at! ? He told me I measure at 32cm which is just over the 50% (if your 31 weeks you should be 31cm pelvic to top of uterus) so I'm close, babies heart beat was 140bpm (as usual) and he felt where the baby was (he figures head down !!). I was surprised to hear that baby is already head down and this was the first time the doctor told me what I measured. He was really nice and the best part was that I was out of the office before my appt was even suppose to start!! In my car by 1:18 and I didn't feel like he rushed me out it just went really smooth and there was no problems!! So I after the appt I went to visit one of my girlfriends that lives out there, stayed a little longer then planned but we had lots to talk about (I haven't seen her in quite a while) so I didn't get home till 5:30 but it was a good day!

Surgery scheduled

Well I got to leave work early yesterday for my doctor appointment with the surgeon. The appointment went well, the doctor seems really nice, she explained the surgery to me and we scheduled it for August 14th! She figured it would be best if I waited a month after baby was born to have the surgery and honestly I have no idea!? I've never had a kid before, I don't know how I'm going to feel!? So she also let me know that even though it is "day surgery" I will probably be away from baby for most of the day so if I'm breast feeding I will need to prepare for that! There was a 1 in 200 chance that something might happen and she may have to open me up like how they used to remove the gallbladder and if this were too happen I would be spending a few nights in the hospital. If I spend a few days in the hospital and also want my baby there with me she said that I also have to ask someone else to be there too! When ever baby is at the hospital someone has to be responsible for it besides me .. just in case! ? Which makes sense, the nurses aren't paid to be baby sitters! So I get to leave early again today for another doctor appointment, this on is in St.Albert so I have to leave extra early to get there. It should be a fairly fast appt, I don't have many concerns except that I have been experiencing some cramping lately. I'm sure it's probably just braxton hicks or baby making room but they sure are a pain! I didn't sleep so well last night, it was like at 1:30am I just woke up and didn't feel tired anymore!? Like 3 hours of sleep was enough!!??! So I got up and had a glass of milk and tried to fall back asleep, eventually I did.

I still need to do the hospital tour thing and I think pre-register (I'm not sure if my hospital does that or not?), so maybe on my next appointment I will also book a tour?! The basement seems to be going fairly well now, thanks to FIL! It doesn't feel like there is too much left to do down there before we can move furniture around but if I actually wrote down all the things that still need to be done ... there is a lot left too do!! I'm hoping that by mid May we will be working on the baby room!?

28 week doctor appointment

The doctor appointment went good yesterday, I invited my mom to come with me to hear the heartbeat so I picked her up on my way. The doctor was actually somewhat on time, the nurse took my BP (117/68), weight and made sure there was no protein or sugar in my urine. Everything checked out good, baby is measuring right where it should be and the doctor says my weight and size is also right where it should be! :) Guess I'm not a cow after all!? I will try really hard this weekend to post comparison pics and you can decided for yourself! ;) Since the doctor was running somewhat on time I actually got home at a decent time even with dropping my mom off at home so hubby and I went out for dinner to Chili's. I am now on a every two week doctor visit schedule so I can only imagine that the time will fly by even faster now!! I asked yesterday and she said that they don't do pelvics until you are at about 35 weeks and then at 38 weeks they check again. So as I was entering my next two appointments into my phone I realised just how close this baby is about to arrive and we still DON'T have a name!!! :o I could honestly care less if the baby room is done or not it's not like baby is going to know that it's crib is in the office instead of it's bedroom for the first week or so!? But a name is a little more important and it isn't something you should just think of on a whim?!

New stove ...... almost!?

I almost got myself a new stove last night!~! On the way home from work I decided I wanted to make homemade pizza for supper (since that is the only way I can really have pizza right now) so as I started to decorate the pita bread with all the different veggies I realized I hadn't turned the oven on yet. So I went to preheat it, I turn the nob (as usual) and pushed a button to set the temperature .... the stove beeped twice at me - which isn't normal and then the clock part froze up .... I couldn't set the temperature!? So what is a starving pregnant lady to do? First I call hubby, tell him I broke the stove and that he is the "fixer" and needs to fix it if he wants supper. He asks what I did and why!? WTH ?? Like I did this on purpose .... I'm starving and really want pizza! ?! ;) Now maybe if I was just doing cookies or something !? he he He went downstairs and played with the fuse box, pulled some fuses out of the back of the top of the stove that I didn't even know existed!? But to no avail ... nothing worked! I was just about to suggest we go shopping when I fiddled with the nobs, set the time (cause the blinking was driving me nuts) and to my surprise it was working! So good news is that we got to have homemade pizza for supper but bad news is that I have to wait a little longer for my new stove! :(

I get to leave early today, probably around 2pm for my doctor appointment at 3 in St.Albert. Although even though I get to leave early I probably still won't get home till 5 or later!? I think this is the last 'simple' doctors appointment, my next one will probably involve a pelvic exam as well!? I will also find out today if I passed my diabetes's test, which I can only assume I did cause I did that test like 2 weeks ago and never got a phone call!?

25 week Doctor Appointment

Lately I feel like a chicken on a rotisserie, especially when I'm trying to sleep! Up until just recently I have still been able to sleep on my tummy (which is how I always slept before) but last night I just couldn't get comfy on my tummy - it felt too full!? So I alternated between my left side and right side, flopping back and forth as the one side started to get uncomfy I would switch, swinging my belly over and trying to get comfy on my other side! ? I totally felt like one of those chickens spinning on the rotisserie! :P And I'm not even at my biggest yet, pretty soon I will relate to a turkey, then a pig roast!! ;) he he

We have been having issues again at work with our computers, at least this time I have Internet but I just can't bill out any invoices. And the dipsh*t I work with is MIA again, probably on another pilot run, he didn't show up yesterday and so far isn't in today either. Last time I felt bad that dipsh*t wasn't here and didn't want to leave my boss by himself so I cancelled my ultrasound (it was for my gallbladder, not the baby) but this time I refuse to cancel anymore appointments because dipsh*t isn't reliable enough to show up, especially if the appointment is for baby! It's not my job to care if he is here or not, I just have to worry about myself and I gave plenty of notice about this doctor appointment! Dipsh*t didn't give any notice about taking a few days off this week! So today I will be leaving at 2:00 whether he is here or not, whether we are busy or not .... no ifs ands or butts! I think I will probably have to take my gestational diabetes test this week too, the one where you drink the flat orange pop and stick around the lab for an hour then get your blood taken. I'm a little worried only because with the low fat diet any 'treat' I have seems to be low fat but high in sugar. Hopefully this doesn't affect my test and then I will have to be on a low fat, low sugar diet! :( No treats at all!!

I forgot to mention, when I was in the hospital the last time, my roommate who was 28 weeks pregnant was in for high blood pressure and a low cervix. I also think she was a little nuts and just wanted to get another ultrasound of her baby (like most first time mom's), anyway .... she kept telling the nurses how she couldn't feel the baby move and it wasn't normal, that her baby was a very active baby. So every 4 hours they would hook her up to a non-stress test to see how the baby was doing and you could hear the baby moving like crazy but she would continue to insist that she couldn't feel it. If the baby did slow down a bit the nurses had this trick where they took an empty pop can and would crush it to make that tin noise - this would get baby moving! I thought it was neat cause not only would it make her baby move but mine would also react to the pop can crushing sound!? How weird is that! So of course I told my hubby about it so now at home he is trying out the pop can theory and tries to get baby active by crushing his cans! ;)

Friday!!! :)

Well we never ended up going bowling last night!! Hubby was pretty tired from a long day of work and honestly I didn't need much convincing to not go! Instead I was going to make a few recipes but when I started looking at the list of things I needed I realized that most of the things I needed were frozen! I will make them this weekend after my egg beaters and bananas thaw out! ;)

My FIL comes home today ... he was in Cancun for the past two weeks!! When he left two weeks ago it wasn't too cold out maybe -5C and now today is -24C with a wind chill of like -35C !!! So he will be leaving +30 and coming home to -30C!!! How crazy is that - I think he will be surprised at the amount of snow we have gotten while he was gone too! Hopefully there is only about eight more weeks of winter then it should start to get nice again?

I booked all my appointments and ultrasounds yesterday, it seems like every two weeks I have some kind of appointment! I bet my boss is getting tired of me having to take all this time off? I can't even imagine what it is going to be like when I have to go out to St.Albert every 2 weeks for my regular prenatal exam plus any extra appointments that might be needed?! In the next 5 weeks I have two ultrasounds (one for baby, one for my gallstones), my 24 week appointment with with the GYN and I have a dentist appointment! The only good thing is that the company I work for is pretty family orientated so they probably won't deduct any pay from my salary because of all the time off. The are usually pretty understanding and will figure out a way that I can still get my full pay or close to it!

1st U/S pics!! ~~finally~~

Well, my doctor never did end up calling me at work so I headed off to my appointment at 2:30. It's a good thing they need you to pee when you get there cause it's a long drive!! My doctor was running late .... as usual, so my appointment that should really only take about 10 minutes took an hour! I didn't get out of there till 4:30 ~~ my BP was 115/65 which I think is good, and babies bpm was 144 a little low for baby but that's OK maybe he was sleeping? I also am down 2lbs from my last weigh in (four weeks ago) but I think that is also OK cause now I am where I should be weight wise and I am gaining again so it's all good! ;) The doctor didn't really mention anything about my gallstones and I asked why she had called me, it was just to go over the ultrasound. She told me that everything looked good, all the bits were where they should be (no abnormalities found), my placenta looked good and by the ultrasounds measurements they predict that baby is 5 days ahead of where I say it is so they estimate the due date for June 22~! She did mention how they couldn't see the heart chambers very well and recommend that I go for another ultrasound in 2-5 weeks (but she says it would be beter to go closer to the 5 week mark - things will be clearer and easier to see). So I made my appointment for March 18th, I'm pretty excited about having to go for another ultrasound cause this way I get more pics and I get to see baby again!! She did a swab test for my 'itch' and I need to go pee in a cup to make sure it's not my bladder/ kidney's that are the problem. I should find out by Friday what the swab says.

After I finally got out of the doctors office I decided to stop by my Mom's place for what I thought would be a quick visit, well two hours later we decided to go for supper (Chili's again ~~ cause I know it's 'safe' to eat) it was 9pm by the time we finished supper!!! :o Our Internet got fixed last night, we needed a new motem. So when I finally got home last night I made sure to post the pics here!! So here is our baby! :)

Everyone seems to really like the 3D one where it looks like baby is rubbing his eyes but I kinda wish I had a pic that showed the facial features a little beter?! Even though it is really cute, maybe on the next ultrasound I can get a more detailed pic?

It's bowling night ..... hubby says it's up to me if we go or not!? I honstly don't want to go anymore not because I'm sore still - I feel good, but just cause it's not that much fun!? I think we will end up going tonight and we will see how it goes. There is really only about 8 more weeks till the season is over so I should be OK for the rest of it and I really do need the excersise. I'll just have to suck it up and try my best! ;)

Hump day! ;)

I'm suppose to have another doctors appointment today but I'm thinking that my doctor may want to reschedule? Last night when I was out grocery shopping I guess she called and told hubby it wasn't important and that she would try to get a hold of me at work today? So now I'm kinda freaked out as to why she would be calling me at home but since she said it wasn't important it makes me think that maybe she needs to reschedule? Which would also kinda suck cause I really need to see her today, I think I may need a presciption for an infection? I feel like I am a one of those case book files, you know the ones where if it is "common" in pregnancy it will happen to me! My head cold is starting to go away but I have this burning itch that I have a feeling I know what it may be and I'm not liking it too much! :( Of course I Googled it and they recommend eatting less sugar, more yogurt and try to "air out the goods" more. he he So that's another thing to add to my diet list .... now I have to watch my sugar intake! I wonder who ever said "the joys of pregnancy" actually ment it or were they being sarcastic? I sure would like to know what these 'joys' are! ! ;)

Grocery shopping was really good, I was there for almost 2 hours!!! There were a few things I couldn't find like turkey breast, ground turkey and I had no idea where to find sesame seeds!? The buggy was so full, I don't think it's ever been that full but because they were giving you 15% off it ended up costing just as much as usual! I think this weekend I will make some blueberry banana muffins, granola bars and one of the casserols. I'm curious to try the recipe that calls for buckwheat, I don't think I've ever had buckwheat but I remember in school one year a classmate dressed up as Buckwheat - it was funny! he he

I have a pretty busy weekend planned - Saturday we need to go out to St.Albert and babysit my niece and nephew for a few hours, I want to do the baking/ cooking, on Sunday my Mom and I are going to a Welcome Wagon for expecting moms and hopefully we will be able to get over to my hubbies Grandmas to borrow her dehydrater so I can make some banana chips and healthy snacks. I also should probably squeeze in a little house cleaning as well. O - and I also need a oil change on my car so hopefully hubby will have time to get that done!? I doubt all this will happen, hopefully our Internet provider will be coming by tonight between 4 and 6 to fix our connection, so by the time I get home it beter be fixed or I'm going to be very mad!! I really want to post my pics for all of you~!! Hopefully if everything works out then you will be seeing the pics tomorrow! ;)

No sleep = very grumpy! :(

I don't think I slept for more then 4 hours last night, I just couldn't fall asleep? I was debating getting up and watching some TV to try and get drowsy but instead I just lay there. So now I am very grumpy today, not only because I have had no sleep but because our internet was still down and I can not post my pics!! :( Hubby was on the phone with the internet company last night to try and get it fixed but they are so useless, like they don't care! It pisses me off cause it is a service that I have paid for and now I can't even use it!

Tonight is grocery shopping day (first Tues of the month), I get to go by myself cause my hubby is expecting someone to come by and can't reach him to let him know he might not be home so I just said I would go by myself. I actually like to go by myself cause then I can take my time and not feel rushed, I just don't really like pushing the heavy cart which usually has a broken wheel making it impossible to turn corners! ;) I have a lot of things to get that I don't normally buy cause I want to make some of the new recipes so it might take me longer to find these items.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow afternoon that I am actually kinda excited to go to. I believe my weight loss has stopped, I weighed myself this morning and I am up a pound so I suppose that is good news?! It's hard to find that happy medium of not loosing but not putting on too much weight!? Hopefully it will get nicer out soon and I will take the dog out more and get my arse off the couch! ;)

The spell check thing hasn't been working for me lately on this blog so hopefully I'm not making too many errors? Other then that ..... not too much else is going on?
